I think both dials are beautiful. I have the followup SBGW231 and you get over the text layout pretty quickly when you have the watch on your wrist. If anything, the cleaner dial is less of a distraction from makes this watch awesome... the box dome crystal, the subtle curvature of the hands and dial, the zaratsu polishing, etc. You really can't go wrong either way
