Icon14 My new daily beater-Glashutte Original, long,

Recently purchased a used GO chronograph, 3 subdials, no date, silver dial, stainless steel case with transparent back. I had little previous knowledge of the brand. What I had read was all positive, so I purchased, preowned, a GO. This is an exceptional timepiece. The the totalizer subdial at six, is marked off in 30 minute and one hour markers to six rather than twelve hours. The fit and finish is excellent. Timekeeping is a remarkable + 1/2 sec per 24 hours. I use the US NIST app. That's about the best I can do without a timer. The hour and minute hands are lummed. I registered the watch with Glashutte Original's website. They are located, naturally, in Glashutte Germany. I received an email reply from their customer service manager this morning. She advised the watch was now registered in my name with my information GO had requested. An email from the customer service manager! OK, I'm further impressed. All parts, cases are made in-house, edges are beveled were needed. Watches and movements are assembled by hand. This brand is definitely flying under the radar in the USA.

Didn't you get this watch already a month ago? I think I remember a post from back then.

In my opinion, the most underrated brand around today. They seem to finally be trying to break into the US market in a big way, and I’m loving their new willingness to put their complications in a stainless case

I would not say that GO is underrated. Whomever is willing to look beyond Rolex I believe recognizes the qualities of GO. The trick is that in the ~10k range is difficult to compete with the Rolex/Omega marketing machines while when you get beyond 20k you have to convince customers to look away from PP/AP/VC/ALS. I think most of the people who can spend more than 20k on a watch and are not Rolex-or-nothing types do appreciate GO but have so many valid alternatives to look from (as opposed to the ~10k range where GO is an exceptional value but in a market dominated by Rolex-or-nothing customer base).

I am no marketing expert but this is my perception of the market.

Do not think of GO as a “beater.” That is more of a Seiko, G-shock type of watch/expense for me. But GO makes a lot of attractive watches and it is under the radar.

Perhaps a picture here of the new daily beater will be nice!

Jock, that's mine except for the SS bracelet. I put on a third party leather strap. Did not like the GO folding clasp. The timing rate is phenomenal, +0.576 per 24 hours. It is not chronometer rated. With results like this, who cares?
