Love the stained glass window as well.. my mother-in-law's house has similar features. You don't see that level of detail on new houses today.

Our favorite "room" in our house is the screened porch in the back yard. Some dim lighting, a little jazz and a glass of wine.. I can sit out there all night. Once I figure out what I want to do with the rest of the back yard.. would love to add the patio / fire pit. Love how yours turned out.

We moved into our first house last November and I agree going right into winter is tough. I'm already looking forward to spring. It'll be worth it, I promise!

We also have some great neighbors after living in many areas without. It's one of our favorite parts of this neighborhood.

Seth this is awesome! Read from the beginning and you made a great move.

Really like the updates you've done so far and you haven't even been there very long!

We bought our house 2.5 years ago and just finished a complete renovation about a month ago. Every single room in the house was gutted and redone - not the easiest living there through it but the outcome was worth it. My wife really honed her design and decorating skills throughout the project - kind of wild to see the evolution of what she was able to come up with. We just have to do some landscaping to the exterior and reshape the driveway etc then we will be done.

My hope would be that the Mrs lets us stay there for some time as we now have significant equity and relatively low taxes for the area - not sure if it's a battle I'll be able to win.

Looking forward to see it as it progresses :)

Thanks for the comment Jim. After a few days of stress and confusion, it’s really starting to shape up.

I’m beginning to truly love this house. With it all set up with furniture, it’s come even farther. Day one or two and I was starting to think we made a huge mistake. But I’m finding a new routine and loving it. More importantly, my wife is too.

Once we do a nice cleaning, I’ll post some final pics

It’s super homey and charming at this point. And I seriously can’t wait until it warms up a bit and I can get some porch time in.

Are the sidewalk lights electric? or solar?

I just added two small yard LED lights to accent my palm at night, but had to dig a trench through thick thatches of roots to get wire/lights installed. I still need some light features at night in a couple of dark places.

Mostly a final update. It’s taken a heck of a lot of time. Finally done. Just a few minor things to do.

Just put in trees and sod. Two dogwoods and a cherrywood. Redid and widened the driveway. All sorts of stuff. It all took some getting used to, but finally comfortable and loving this home.

Just seeing this. Sorry. Electric. But they don’t work great. Two are out. Likely getting them all replaced soon.
