I currently use R.M. Williams in brown Roo my Oz buddy got me for Christmas many years ago and still going strong even with a clear ID display which usually blows-out, and have very rugged saddleback leather wallet which could last until rapture, but it's a tad cumbersome.
Based on a recommendation on this thread, I ordered a small credit card holder wallet from:

https://www.monkmadegoods.com/

I will be getting it on X-Mas and update the thread with how I like it. I am also stalking an LV Epi leather Pocket Organizer as an everyday wallet but looking on eBay for one.

It's funny but the custom designed, hand made wallets are less expensive than the luxury brand manufactured wallets...

Here ya go! I haven't used it yet, but just got it today and I think it looks great! Beautiful leather, and he did exactly as I asked (two card holders on each side and an open middle so I could stick a twenty or CC receipts in there. Thanks for the advice here!

I love the look of that! I am trying to "go small" in wallets, but we'll see how well I fare in that department. For a traditional wallet, yours looks awesome. IMO, they come in looking just as supple and solid as they do in the pictures.

I've been trying to order a wallet from Niwa Leathers in Japan, but it appears I will have to go there in person. :(

The guy makes some beautiful stuff. His attention to details is simply amazing.

Why is this? Their site looks a bit hard to navigate for sure but their stuff looks incredible. I was thinking of getting one a couple years ago as I have relatives in Japan, but might wait for a milestone birthday to ask.

Can't you email them? I'd be curious myself. I'm sure their English is good enough to get the message across to complete an order... Sorta like my experience buying watches from some trusted Japanese shops and my love for Japanese kitchen cutlery over the years.

If not, maybe I can get my wife to help put together an email for you if they simply cannot understand.

The website says there's a wait time also, time depending upon what you order.

Order placed except I went for a more contrasting look of Bourbon Shell & Whiskey Buttero (bourbon whiskey! ) and in his more traditional Japanese Archbishop pattern. Can't wait!

Not funny at all when you really think about it as you’re partially paying for the brand in addition to fine leather work. The premium goes up no question, and why I’d like to parlay my monies stateside.

Not to take away from the fine European makers — which is still a consideration — but I once purchased a finely made cordovan wallet for my dad 15yrs ago from a USA leather worker now passed-on and that wallet is still in 80% condition. No question the European leather patterns are very attractive, but I don’t need any attention given to me as I sometimes pay in questionable parts of town given my work.

I haven’t followed-up on your recommendations just yet, but know there’s always someone worthwhile making fine goods in the USA given the resources.

I look forward to your review.
