Another would you do it thread

Hi everyone! I currently have a 233 AM/PM dial and a 311. I've suddenly got the uncontrollable urge to own a 47mm Pam, a 372 to be exact. I have a offer to trade my 233 for a brand new 372 plus $500. A tobacco dial is a must for me so trading up the 233 for a 372 and keeping my 311 is the plan. That would give me a super nice Chrono with fairly busy dial and the base of all bases.
Thoughts on this deal please?

Not the best deal, but never underestimate the value of a trusted source and convenience. I see 233s selling just under $9k where 372 can be had for close to $7k. You could pocket that whole spread if you're willing to do the leg work and be patient. Good luck.

Just looking through P.com ads for 233's I'm seeing lots of them priced in the low $8k range. There seem to be a lot for sale right now too so selling it out right might be tough. I see your point though. I have some thinking to do. This just covers all bases and makes its nice and easy so yes convenience is worth something in this case. Thanks for the input! Btw, a very trusted source here on TRF made me the offer. That much I'm comfortable with.

I wouldn't. The 233 is worth more than the 372...

Have you reached out to some of the trusted sellers? Maybe you could trade and put cash in your pocket

Seems like you should be getting more cash back, but, anyway, given your 311, why not trade and try out the 372? It'll be easy to get a 233 back at some point.

Not that it makes a huge difference but I don't have either oem strap for my 233 and the outer brown box didn't come with it either. I see everyone's point though, my 233 is worth more. Hmm...

I love my 233 but realistically it's a lot like my 311, I want to have a pair of very different watches not two that are very close. It's a tough choice here. Ugh!

I understand about not wanting two watches that look too similar. How long have you had the itch??? Sometimes they pass. Perhaps sell one for a different brand/look altogether??? I generally have to lust after a watch for a year before I know its what I truly want.

For me the 372 size is a deal breaker, but if it works for you and you can get a good price for your 233 go for it. Unless you are a collector, its nice to have different looking watches.

My 233 is a keeper.

Keeping the 233, saving for a 372. I'm positive I would have regret if I sold it. Thanks for talking me off the ledge guys!

Keep the 233!

It would wear so much better than the 372. In the pictures the 372 pops, but in real life I would want the 233.

good choice to keep the 233 ... I was just to write "you can have my 372 and i take your 233 ...." You get more use out of the 233 ... To wear at the office 47mm is big with shirts and suits ... I do it, but i prefer to wear it with a more casual look ... Which is weekends ... Less wrist time ... A 233 you can wear every day of the week .... A keeper.

After the fact, but for what's it worth:
Have you worn, or at least tried on, a 47mm? It seems like there's quite a few being sold after buyers decided that it's too big on them.

I've owned several 47mm , yes. Starting to miss the big 47mm feel. For now I am satisfied with two spectacular pieces. I'm not a wealthy guy by any means so I consider myself lucky to have the watches I do. I'll wait until I can add the 372 to the family and have the best of both worlds.
