Icon4 Was there ever a 14790ST with a 2125 movement?

Hi guys,

Two weeks ago I bought a 14790ST with long hour marks and a greyish-blue dial. I always thought that the 14790 is the most beautiful with long hour marks and either the bright blue or the greyish-blue dial and a steel buckle. The papers date the watch to 1997.

I met the seller in his shop in Italy and could only find good reviews about him, which is why I decided to go ahead with this purchase.

At home, I realised that the second hand looked as if it skipped some beats now and then. There is no smooth swoosh as I am used to from my vintage Rolexes.
I then decided to check the VPH with an iPhone app (I know, not known for great accuracy, but better than nothing) and they come out at 6 per second or 21,600 per hour. As far as I am aware, this is indicative of a 2125 movement, not the 2225 that I expect to sit in this model. When researching on royaloakclub, I could only find 14790s with 2225 movements, which are supposed to have a VPH of 28,800.

Is a 2125 movement period correct for a 1997 14790? What should I be doing for further investigation? I will check the papers tonight and share the information that I find.

Thank you

I believe this took a turn for the worst. I checked the papers and the watch is said to be equipped with a 2225 movement. However, it only ticks at 21,600 VPH. Does this mean it can't be the correct movement?
