Grand Seiko lovers page

Hi guys...

I just ordered a GS today and will be receiving it in a few days. To tie me over, any other GS owners out there care to share some of their pics?

We are a small bunch I know...

I'm looking for this one (SBGE021)
Was a LE of 150, so not easy to find

Hello and welcome to the club! Here some pictures of my only GS, a quartz-powered SBGF017.

And finally a very recent (Easter morning) wristshot.

Hi Clive

Believe it or not, my colleague has that same LE model you are after. The dial and that greenish hue looks fantastic. I have no idea how he got one of the 150 but he's an avid collector of all brands and seems to have a few connections. I'll ask him when I see him next where he got it.

Hi FMC

Thanks for sharing. The more I read about the GS quartz models, the more impressed I am. I always thought that quartz is quartz - there could be nothing special to distinguish between a GS quartz technology from a $5 quartz watch. But when reading about the design/technology/tuning and accuracy that goes into the GS quartz, I have a much greater appreciation.

photos taken with a phone, not 100% but not bad.

I just could not get on with the OEM strap and now have it on a Hirsch, which is _very_ comfortable, I think it may have been the GS deployment causing me issues, however, all is well now .

Lovely pics folks. Roy - that black glossy dial reminds me of the Planet Ocean LM Limited Edition. I bet it looks even better in person than in the pics.

I love my SBGE001. I sold it once and after awhile had to purchase another... that is when you know you are in love.

I had the Grand Seiko SBGA011 aka snowflake to see if I would prefer it. Beautiful watch, but the SBGE001 is just my style. I was surprised the bracelet on the SBGA011 use pins and collars while the the SBGE001 uses pins and screws which I prefer.

If you can get over the status thing, there is no finer watch than a Grand Seiko.

Yes, while of course not all watches appeal to all people, it is unfortunate that the "status thing" appears to be the sticking point for some people.

They are indeed fine watches with a history that I respect.

Great photos everyone. I don't have any myself, but please keep them coming.

Hi Clive.
That green turbine dial is simply gorgeous. I imagine you have already perused the YouTube Vids of it countless times !
I'm not sure if you are looking for a new or used one. If new then afaik one or two International GS AD's still seem to show it as available. I know there is also a GS AD in Melbourne. Even if they don't have one in stock they should still be able to get hold of one for you. (depending on how helpful they are !)

Afaik SBGA011 uses pins and collars rather than screws because of its Ti construction.

Ozzy - thats a lovely classic piece. And you're spot on about seeing them in the metal. I know its cliche now for many comments by GS owners, but the finish (specifically the hand polishing) is really outstanding.

I'm becoming a GS convert.

Found this massive GS pictures thread. And some stunning pieces here. Think on page 17-18 some lovely vintage pieces too.
