I could see that with manual winding watches are pretty accurate which does not happen with the automatic ones.
And as you will see in the answers we all love our watches and we enjoy when we do the manual winding.
Anyway the PAM 111 is beautiful and one of the most successful of Panerai watches.

As much as I understand the tradition aspect, I personally like the dependency of a watch that winds to my movements. Its also less wear and tear on the crown. I have a big multi watch wind-up box and like my watches to be ready to wear. If you didn't have many watches and felt winding wasn't a negative, then go for it. It is a great looking watch.

Less wear and tear on the crown is what I thought as well....but maybe I'm wrong since it's designed to be manually winded. It is a beautiful watch and the only alternative at the moment could maybe be the 312. Having a date is great but I love the look if the big numbers and I think I would miss not seeing the big 3 on the dial.
Great replies, thanks!
