PAM buckle or clasp?
Hi PAM people!
I have a PAM 328 now mounted on a OEM brown aligator strap. I dont mind changing strap, but sometimes to change de buckle can be a pain. I am thinking to buy a new buckle, or a couple. Now the questions, for the OEM straps, can I put a deployant clasp on it? I know some others are thicker. If so, do you recommend it to avoid punishing the strap less? And if so, which one to get? The PAM one is quie expensive, any good ones? If you recommend the buckle, where can I get it? Best, Guillermo |

Straps for deployant can't be fitted with tang buckle and vice versa.

Thanks, even the OEM ones? I thought those could go either way.

Nope. One or the other only.

OEM tang buckle straps will have the designation BA, deployant straps will have the designation BDR. Deployant straps are much thinner on the long end to fit into one end of the buckle. 44mm Luminors typically use 24/22, so your should get a 22 mm tang or 22 mm deployant.
I prefer the deployant, but many will say the PAM deployant is uncomfortable, and trickier to change because of the tiny screw that you need to loosen to change straps.

I believe you can use a tang buckle on a deployment strap, but not a deployment buckle on a tang strap. At least that's what I do, not a fan of Panerai's deployment buckle, but like the thinness of the deployment straps.

I guess I will go buckle, no other option. However, the only reason I wanted the buckle was for the strap would last longer...oh well

Why would you want the strap to last longer?? Strap replacement is half the joy of Panerai ownership!
