Whalers Village, Maui

I'm here for the week and there is a Rolex ad I whalers village. Anybody have any reviews? I would like to get my wife a watch for here 35th birthday which 9/30, the day we leave. Would love for her to veto to an explorer, nothing sexier (imho) than a woman wearing a "men's" watch.

Personally, I like the Baron & Leeds in Wailea more, although i’ve Had plenty of good conversations with the folks in the Lahaina shop also.

I have not been able to get any discounts out of them, although I read on this forum that others have.

They usually have a great selection, and are very friendly.

We do have a lower tax rate than many places on the Mainland.

Have fun!

I've been in that shop a number of times. Staff members have always been pleasant and have suggested I try on some very nice watches, which I did (of course). I've never attempted to negotiate a deal with them, however, so I can't tell you if they're willing to discount. While I enjoy "window-shopping" while on vacation I've generally prefer to buy from an AD that's close to home.

I agree with rouxeny. I visited both and had a better experience at Wailea - I suppose it depends on who your sales person is. Stephanie at Wailea made my BLNR purchase a great, memorable experience. It marked my retirement.

Dean @ Lahaina B&L is great, he'll work with you.

When traveling I always feel like I need to bring out my best piece to "establish" myself to the AD. This year I just brought a 16710 and Pelagos Blue dial. I know it sounds silly but if I wear my Daytona I get different attention, hate to say it but it's true.

Was at Whaler Village a few weeks ago (airline pilot so frequently coming and going). Had a great conversation with a fantastic sales lady who had a very unique but unrecallable name (40-50 year old black lady).

She explained their upgrade policy: bring full set back w/in 5 years and apply 100% of original purchase price to a watch that is at least twice as much as first watch.

She also offered to steam clean my 116500 and said my second hand is not
functioning, and then proceeded to hack the chronograph returning my watch to me. I laughed and said thanks but declined the cleaning due to timing.

Not a buyer at this time, but enjoyed the experience.

Very cool, I'm a general aviation pilot (as a hobby).
