I bought a blue dial fluted jubilee recently, those DJ41 owners do you feel that the manual winding is not as smooth compared to 31xx movement?

Fluted bezel means it's not all steel. Fluted is always gold.

Here's my DJ41...

I understand the fluting is in white gold but otherwise it's an SS watch

I noticed with my dj41 the feel of the winding changes when the power reserve is fully topped up, I start feeling resistance in the winding. I thought there was something wrong at first but it keeps excellent time. Let the power reserve drain a bit and try winding, it should start out smooth.

My choice silver dial, fluted bezel on jubilee. I tried this combination on and honestly it looks a million dollars, and appears a bargain compared to a SS sports. I still ended up buying a EX 2 Polar, lol.

Surely your photo is a DJII, not a DJ41?

Favorite DJ41 Variant

My wife's DJ - Wimbledon dial, probably my fav. Looks much better on her

IMG_9883.JPG
(Very sandy beach photo)

(Although not 41)
This is getting wrist time today, my wrists are just over 7inch so a 36mm DJ doesn't get much wear on me. Still love the SJ and fluted bezel.

Embarrassed to say I don't know the difference between djii and dj41. Can anyone enlighten me and tell me what model my wife wears.

Thanks

I need more details to answer this questions. Are you wearing the DJ41 with business attire/suits? If so, I would say fluted and jubilee are a must. TT or stainless is more about personal taste.

If more of a casual look, then I would go with stainless steel and smooth bezel on a jubilee

Yes, it's not as smooth; especially when almost fully wound, but even when stopped. I also thought there was something wrong, then went into the AD and wound a few (they thought I was quite strange) and they all did that.

Hah I see, I will try to let it wind down and see how it goes although it's very hard to take it off being a new watch and in honeymoon period. Coming from wearing a sub as only watch for almost 2 years I found the crown a bit small too.
