116610LV should I pull the trigger ?

Hi forum ! I'm looking at purchasing another watch and would like some feed back .
I have the opportunity to purchase a submariner hulk (full set) for $11,000 NZ dollars . And after talking to my local AD ,they have a 2 year waiting list for this watch and an rrp of $12.850 ! The watch isn't mint i.e. It has a few marks on bracelet consistent with some light wear, but all in all is in great condition and it's all there , box , card, tags etc and still under Rolex warranty ! And at what I think is a reasonable price ? What do you folks think about this purchase ? It would compliment my 14060 nicely and should keep a pretty solid resale value should I decide to flick it on in a while ? Thoughts appreciated . Many thanks :)

It seems like a decent price and a few scratches are to be expected when buying used, IMO. I say go for it as long as it's something you would honestly like to add to your collection. You can never go wrong with the LVc..here's some motivation..

Thanks mate ! Great shots It sure is a beautiful watch and looks great on . My only reservation is can I get away with the green ? Suits some more than others possibly . I feel I can't really loose out financially and could always flick for a black dial ceramic Sub in the future if the green wares off on me :) my trigger fingers twitching !

You can't loose. The hulk will always be a desirable watch. Prices will only go up throughout the years. Go for it!

The green is just sublime on the lvc...otherwise I wouldn't have picked up a six digit sub.

Heh, I like how everybody immediately posts drool-inducing wrist shots, firmly pushing any OP who may be undecided, into the "must have it now" territory

I like the splash of color to go w your 14060. I personally would go for the greater variety of a GMT or Explorer II, but if you're determined to stay in the series its hard to find fault with a Hulk

$11k full set in NZ? What are you waiting for? There were a few in trademe a few weeks back but gone quiet again. NZ is a small market and popular models are hard to come by so if I see anything reasonable I snap them up.

Hi
I think its a great purchase for anyone. The green is beautiful in all its many shades and not out of place in business or pleasure.

That's why I love this forum !
I've reserved the watch and will be picking it up on Monday thanks for your responses , wise words, and the "drool inducing wrist shots". I will of course be posting gratuitous wrist shots and pictures of the watch myself once I have it in my hands . thanks again folks

Good decision! I'm trying to hold off on pulling the trigger myself, but for NZD11k all resistance would fall away

116610LV should I pull the trigger ?

Stand about 4 ft from the LVc and the dial looks black in almost 90% of conditions. The pictures you see with the beautiful dial capture in its glorious green have to do with proper angle and lighting conditions.

For all practical purposes, it is an everyday watch.

I know...right! That said, as an existing LVC owner, I'm gonna go the opposite way and tell you that you prolly shouldn't get it! Ya' know, unless you wanna be constantly looking down at your wrist day after day...year after year saying to yourself "Jesus Chri$t...that Dial just keeps getting more and more beautiful every time I see it!" Don't do it I say! Ya' know, unless you want beautiful woman (or men I guess...whom am I to judge? Your choice really) so as I was saying...unless you want beautiful people...Angel's really...throwing themselves at you from every which a way, suggestively touching your wrists and asking things of you with longing eyes and bitten lower lips...things like "Can I just gaze into that brilliant green sunburst dial for a moment... the way I've been gazing into your eyes?" Don't do it I say!

Lvc is a great watch. The color green appears almost black at some angle. My wife always notice how long I stares on the watch before actually tell her the time. You made the right decision. Congrats in advance.

You've made your decision so no need for me to say this but ... I think you would be much more likely to regret not buying it than to regret buying it. (The only downside of buying it and regretting the purchase is the inconvenience of having to sell on, and probably at a small profit.) It's a beauty!

Gratuitous, unnecessary and uncalled for (but mandatory) wrist shot…
