SD43 owners - would you modify/change your watch?
So, the cyclops is apparently a "travesty" and/or the bezel is "too fussy" (albeit the same as the SD4kC). Had a spare five minutes so had a little play with photoshop. Thoughts?
(For the record, I'm a fan of both the cyclops and the bezel graduations, but I appreciate not everyone is)

I think your photo looks good...but, to answer your question, I would not mod mine.
EDIT: Just saw where you changed the bezel graduations to match the sub. I actually prefer the graduations of the SD. |

First picture is what this watch should have been. The whole point of this watch is to celebrate the anniversary. It would have been great to continue the legacy without the cyclops.
Furthermore, in 2017 it would make sense if Rolex just for this small detail offered the option to forego the cyclops or at least that you could have it removed at an RSC without any repercussions. I love the first option without the cyclops, but ironically I think the bezel graduations are a unique touch to the modern direction the Seadwellers have taken. |

I like the top one Scott, the full bezel and sans Cyclops to keep the SDc DNA and it apart from the Subc. Still like the finished product tho.

Although my rapidly aging eyes appreciate a cyclops, I think for this particular model I would have preferred if they had left the cyclops off. Just would match the history a little better, especially for an anniversary edition. It's not a deal breaker but it's I guess the only thing I would change.

SD4K with 3235 movement and red lettering would have been great( for my wrist size).

The only change I would consider making is no cyclops. Although the cyclops is growing on me but would have preferred it that way from the factory to keep in line with history.
I would keep bezel as is, I like that it is a differentiation from the sub. |

I wouldn't (and won't) change mine. But if Rolex had done one of your three photoshops it would be #1. Keeping the cyclops and removing the fully graduated bezel, now that's just a thick Sub. Losing the cyclops and using a partially graduated bezel, that's the Sub without a Cyclops. Obviously I think the fully graduated bezel is the biggest differentiator from a looks perspective.
I was hoping for a green dial, one that fades top to bottom from a darkish shade green to black, a la Deep Blue DSSD. There was a mock up online and someone posted in TRF somewhere of this, which got me really excited. Here's a link to it: https://monochrome-watches.com/rolex...ctions-2017-2/ I'd post the photo but it's too big given the new rules on photo size... |

I wouldn't change a thing on mine. Love the practicality of the cyclops and the looks of the graduated bezel... :)

After owning my 126600 from day one of his release, I can't even imagine it without the cyclops.

I was unsure on the cyclops during it's release but now I think it's perfect as is. Wouldn't change a thing.

I thought about one. I love the bezel graduations. Not a fan of the cyclops. Also wish it had the same glide lock as the DSSD.

to your photoshop skills.
The one with the only change being non-cyclop is intriguing and beautiful.

I'm very very happy with my SD43, but I'd be ok to lose the cyclops.

Absolutely not. I'm not into modding of any kind other than swapping a bracelet for a strap.

I sold mine as I prefer the deepsea. I do however like the cyclops and that was the last thing I was worried about - I just wish it wore larger.

My aging eyes love the cyclops on mine, but certainly I appreciate the idea of keeping it historically correct. I'd have been ok if they'd left the cyclops off, but I'd then have preferred that they give the watch a domed sapphire crystal reminiscent of the plastic crystals on the 1665's! Either way, I really like the fully graduated bezel.

If I were able to choose with or without the cyclops, i would likely choose without, but I'm not sure if I would modify a watch to get rid of it. Even if I could send it to a professional to remove it and the AR coating, I would still be worried about resale value.
