Deployant clasp question
I'm thinking of replacing my tang buckle with a deployant clasp on my 5205g by my AD mentioned it would be better to order a new leather strap with it instead.
He said that the fit would be wierd if i simply removed my tang buckle and swapped it with the clasp. I was under the impression that there shouldnt be a major difference in fit if i used a deployant vs a tang buckle and am wondering if the leather strap lengths are different for the 2 options. Can anyone who bought a deployant clasp advise on this?

Deployant clasp question
With a conventional tang buckle strap the pointed tail is fitted at 6 o’clock and the buckle ends fitted at 12 o’clock. With the Patek deployant clasp the fitting to the watch is the opposite, and the short buckle end is much shorter, and the long tail is much longer than the ones of a conventional strap.
So the AD is correct that to use the Patek clasp properly does require a specific strap. |

The deployant strap is sized to fit the clasp correctly. The tang buckle end is not the right length.

Ordinary straps are 115/75mm and deployant ones are 125/65mm. It will work with the ordinary strap but the buckle logo will be 1cm offset.
