Should I trade 5712/1a+15202st to get 5740G

I have thought of letting go 2 from my 5 collection like above. The rest are 5320G and 5980R (strap) and 126234mop. Fact that datejust is more often used. Dont know yet the offer for the trade
Any recommendation? Thanks alot

I wouldn’t. I’d keep those two for sure. As much as I love the 5740g, but my favorite is the 5712 by far.

Do not sell.
But add 5740G if you can from AD.
Save up :)

No, there’s a high likelihood that you’ll regret letting go of the 15202 since it’s your only Royal Oak.

I have purchase history but still not enough to buy at retail. That’s the hottest model which is required pairing (so much) bundle. Grey around 230k, too much
So i just think about change from 2 keepers to 1 keeper.

Tough call. I tried to trade a 5712 and a 5726 for a 5740 but was turned down. No way I was adding money to that trade and it’s prob not a great trade for you but if you want a super complicated genta watch it’s not a terrible trade.

Easy yes for me, 5740 is sublime and I’m not a fan of AP or 5712.

The 5712 and 15202 are by far one of my favourite watches. 5712 being my favourite so hard pass for me. I like the 5740 but wouldn't be in my books to sacrifice the other two watches for it.

5740 is my grail, here is a pic comparing my jumbo vs a 5740, albeit it is OR not ST. Would be a very difficult decision but I would find a way to keep the 15202 and add the 5740, which is my plan. The subtle white gold metal on the 5740 is spectacular in person and much prefer the blue dial shade vs the 15202. The 5740 will fly a bit more under the radar IMO, which can be a benefit depending on your preferences.

Sell the 5980r (strap version) towards it and keep everything else intact.

Personally I disagree with this as the rose gold would lend OP’s collection some variety – unless he desires an all white-metal collection.

Don’t sell, only add. I would be hard pressed to trade the iconic 15202 if it is my only RO. And a 5712 on top of that? No way. I find the 5712 and 15202 more aesthetically pleasing than 5740. Dial is not open enough to fit that much detail there and ends up looking busy.

I love all 3 but the 5740 is on another level. The combination of that electric blue dial, full white gold, grand complication and new clasp is awesome. If I can only choose between the 5740 and 5712+15202, I will go for the 5740. Ultimately it boils down to your own preference.

I love the 5740. I would do. You could always try for another 5712 later.

Curse my msrp only principle. For a while, this was actually a very reasonable nautilus to get. Now everything is thru the roof.

I did think about letting go of 5980r strap but, yes, there will be all white collection - the reason that i bought R version.
The less is more. I just not wear 5 watches in a week, only 5320 and datejust are convenience. Someone said that Nau and Jumbo are less wearable due to upcoming value and scraches, it’s true!
I will see if they ask for money plus

Very much a fan of quality over quantity but I would not do that trade.

I have asked myself if I'd sell 5711 blue if I got the call for 5740/1G. And I would not as I love 5711 blue (and very much like 5712/1A) whereas my opinion on 5740 keeps wavering. What the 5740 has undoubtedly going for it is the WG case and bracelet but the very busy dial is less pretty than the dials of 5711 and 5712 IMO. The 3-subdial PC layout works better in a round case than the Nautilus case and could use a little more air to breathe.

So no, I'd not trade away 5712/1A towards 5740/1G. But I'd I'd happily add and see how it goes.

All 3 have similar WR, with that consideration I would just stay put. If a choice had higher WR the watch could be worn for some additional uses.

But the white gold has better corrosion resistance than the SS ... if you are looking for something to distinguish the options.

All great choices.

I’d do the trade and maybe add 15500 as a poor substitute for jumbo.
