Even if they did ask if it’s a Daytona. You just say no “that’s a Rolex watch. This is a Zenith.” If they respond they never heard of Zenith you could respond that that’s entirely possible because it’s not a very mainstream brand. I would leave it at that.

Zero people have ever asked about my Daytona so I'll probably have no issues with the zenith. Looking forward to seeing it in person and deciding on color.

Edit: I actually don't mind the date window. It's there but easy to ignore if you want.

Any negative can be turned into a positive.

One could easily and truthfully argue Zenith is far more exclusive than Rolex.

Rolex assembles more Datejusts in a given month than Zenith’s entire annual production.

People who own Zeniths are far more likely to KNOW about the luxury watch marketplace. 90% of Rolex customers buy the brand as a symbol of achievement or success; they don’t compare technical specifications of mechanical movements.

and don't forget... for 99% of people the Rolex Daytona C is a £20k + watch!

I love this watch. Definitely gonna be on the hit lists and will sit perfectly amongst the Daytona’s.

At $6500 in a black dial, I’ll buy it on the spot. I like it.

Low budget? Isn't just $2K (approx) less than the Daytona?

I'm not saying I like the new Zenith (41mm - um, no), but I wouldn't call it low budget. I don't much care for the ceramic Daytona either though.

I do like the 38mm previous version El Primero a lot.

I really like the new Zenith Sport Chronomaster. I can see myself acquiring it in the future.

Slightly OT, but this one makes me really warm and fuzzy!

The Defy Classic Carbon. Stunning, absolutely stunning!

Based on that, I find the design of this new Zenith all over the place, and even if it were free I wouldn't wear it. I'm a lover of simplicity and beauty in design, and this chronograph is sorely lacking in those departments. It's just way too busy, IMHO.

I know how awful. Let me know when you want to ditch your Daytona. the fact that it looks busy and all over the place like the Zenith... since they look identical... must give you nightmares. Perhaps you’d like to trade it for a nice Panerai or a Tudor Ranger? ;)

I have been thinking a lot about this watch since release and the more I see it, the more I like it. I am not as sold on the black dial, but would need to see it in person.

To those saying it looks too busy versus the Daytona, when I see them side by side, I just don't agree that it looks any more or less busy then the Rolex. The screw down pushers, crown guards and 6 lines of txt (counting the "Daytona") on the Rolex add to its busyness.

As for the date, it is certainly useful for many people, and since they pushed it so far to the edge, when you see pictures of the watch from a distance, you cannot even tell it has a date. I am guessing it will fade away fast and you will only notice it when you want.

The Daytona obviously has the better case, but the slightly larger size of the Zenith will work better for people like me that have a larger wrist and are 100% casual for dress.

This watch is compelling in its own right and is a hard buy at $6K or so. Who cares if someone thinks it is a Daytona or ask about it. I am just outside of Aspen and most of the people I see with nice watches could give two shits about a Daytona. Wear a watch for yourself....not for everyone else.

I notice a lot of hate for this piece which makes no sense to me at all...another awesome sports chrono on the market to enjoy? What's the problem?

Apparently Rolex is the only one allowed to put a ceramic bezel on a chrono.

I guess I’m biased owning 3 Daytona’s so every time I look at it I see all the faults not the all the great things about it.

The colorful sub dials are the Zenith essence in the watch. You remove those and you are left with A Rolex lookalike. I don’t mind if brands stick to some original aspects. Especially in this case

My AD will do 30% on the previous version but no discount on the new one. They have a half dozen coming in that were preordered and paid in full. This is in LV NV.

Yep. Haters gonna hate. He could have been more accurate by saying “a better Daytona for a third of the price”.

You and I must have the same AD. Yep called today and no go below $10k. I will wait for the initial craze to die a bit. He did say Zenith has no problem producing all they need.

If I am paying full price I'll just order from zenith's website

Black was still in stock last I checked. Cut those guys out and give the money to the company.
