Journe RQ
Hello, everyone. I'm still trying to respond to someone else's post-I'll get there- but I have a question for those of you who have, or have tried on, the RQ. I see some pictures of Chase's 42mm case. Does any have a 40mm? Have any of you been able to see/try on both sizes? Any takes on how they look/sit on the wrist? Is the 40 too small given the size of the dial? Thanks for your reading.

Journe RQ
I’ve seen both, personally I prefer the 42mm. To me, the dial looks a little more open on the 42. Also remember, the RQ is a bit thicker to accommodate the new movement design and I liked the way the 42mm sat the wrist better.
Here are a few photos of the 42mm RQ on my 7.25inch wrist and side by side with the 40mm prior generation (I wish I’d taker pictures of both RQs side by side) |

Thanks, warnerbw. All that makes sense. The profile picture seems to make the RQ look huge. Could you tell me what the height is of the 2019 version?

I think the pictures are a bit deceiving.. On the wrist you can tell it’s a little thicker, but it wears very comfortably (and I find it’s a little easier to read the time at a glance). The RQ is about 11mm thick compared to around 9mm for the prior version. They are both great, and surprisingly different.
To your original question around 40 or 42mm RQ, the thickness is the same so it’s really about the case shape and how open the dial feels. (And of course, the new movements are stunning) |
