Platinum 321 Thoughts

I don't post much on here, but somewhat felt compelled to do so.

Added a platinum 321 to the collection prior to New Years to celebrate my engagement. I am fortunate to have had and still have some truly incredible pieces, but there is something very special about this one. My tastes have changed recently and I have refined more or less to the core of that I love to wear, that complications matter to me, and what I find important from a historical perspective.

My collection doesn't have an Omega focus, but the few I do have are already special and yet, don't compare to this. The lunar meteorite subdials and stepped onyx dial are remarkable in person, and combined with a platinum case on strap it is such a stealthy way to wear a special watch.

That's before you consider the 321 movement, which is equally as special and important to the brands history. Nice to know essentially the dame movement does business in some of the most renowned watches from pinnacle brands as well.

I'll work on uploading some pics, the few I tried to attach were rejected for size purposes.

Happy New Year.

Will

Nice! Looks so sharp. I can spot that on someone's wrist from 50 feet away.

Interesting that it has 20mm lug width. It's hard to find good straps or third party bracelets for my 321 because of its 19mm lug width.

Platinum 321 Thoughts

The value in delugs custom straps is compelling. I just had this standard dark grey alcantara not in use as a few of my LF's and other Speedy's have 20mm lug width, but I'm ordering a new set for this and a couple other pieces. I am partial to alcantara or crazy horse on a speedmaster, and you can get contrasting stitching to accent the dial or add a pop of color. For the straight lugs of the EW I would even consider getting the "chunky" custom strap option.

Other option I have used for ck2998 or FOIS I had in the past were Bas and Lokes. Those are my favorite straps specific to a speedmaster. Many great 19mm options

Congratulations. I haven’t had the pleasure to see one in person but from pictures it looks spectacular. Very special.

Congrats. It’s an amazing watch. The platinum contrasts so well with the black onyx.

Congratulations.... truly a special watch....and no two the same!!

The first thing I did with mine is have a custom Omega style deployment strap made up for it. I would love to fit an Omega Platinum deployant clasp, but they're asking stupid money for it.

So a stainless deployant will have to do until I can source a Pt on the secondary.

Thanks! Yes, the material choices on the dial and overall dial composition are probably my favorite aspects of the watch. The lunar meteorite has such a unique look and the color goes perfectly along with the black onyx. Just the right shade of grey and not metallic looking

There may be more expensive Omega's in their catalog, but NONE that carry as much gravitas.

Amazing,

You are also a boss, I don’t dare to change stripes myself especially for a watch of this magnitude.
