Too big and they should have polished the mid links.

There is something about the brushed titanium I don’t like with Rolex watches. Not a fan at all.

This model was definetely one of the best new releases from Rolex along with the open case back platinum Daytona.

I really like this watch and have inquired with AD about it.

I can’t quite see the Ti working for the Sub and SD line. There is something about the raised numerals which makes it work better for the YM line for the overall look in my opinion. With the exception of a missing glide lock (which I can accept), I think Rolex nailed this release.

Is the dial Black or Dark Grey? I assume the picture washed out the black to make it look grey.

I have a feeling many will be pleasantly surprised when they handle this one IRL. At least I hope so

I like the look of this release. My AD is suggesting this will be difficult to obtain too. They were speculating that Rolex are still finding their way with the use of titanium and each store may only see one per year.

In real life the color is much darker, the lighting is always awful at the fairs and Rolex is one of the worst in that.

I'm pretty certain it will be dead easy to get where I live, for locals anyway. No one will want this over a Sub for 40% more. People will get the Pelagos if they're into Ti. This YM will be a window watch. Will most probably sell at discount after some time.

I’d bet opposite

This is their way of saying, no matter how many we receive, you’re not getting one I hear this all all the time, meanwhile the safe out the back is full

Not in this case. Family friend that runs the AD that has secured me difficult pieces in the past. He’s very up front on what he can and can’t access for me. He was however speculating on Rolex’s ability to work with ti. Time will tell and we’ll see how many of these hit the market. We had a similar conversation regarding the DSC

They’ve been making Ti watches for years (Pelagos), they make the bezel already for the WG Yachmaster 42. I just don’t buy the ‘difficulty’ part. If anything they may ‘choose’ to make fewer to pump up demand though restricted supply but there isn’t any difficulty IMHO. I guess they can start slow and build up if there is strong demand.

I have heard this ‘only get one or two a year’ line over and over, AD’s often hide behind it to not embarrass customers who while might be ‘good customers’ aren’t anywhere near good enough to dole out the premium stuff to. UK is about the worst market in the world for this practice.

Saw it in person, as well as all of the other new releases this weekend at WW. Of all the new Rolex releases, this one was my least favorite excluding the abomination of the bubbles OP. Like most titanium metals, it is a much darker/muted hue and IMO the watch looked dirty/worn for a lack of a better word. I suppose that could be an allure for some but in person it was underwhelming.

I’m think the Pelagos is grade 2 titanium rather than the grade 5 used on the DSC and YM so not quite the same particularly where the
Polished and chamfered contours are concerned, but I’m sure someone will chime in if I’m wrong. Time will tell on availability.

Grade 5 causes $10k additional 'difficulty' in manufacturing?

Rolex name ads the 10k, and you should already know that

It’s a great looking watch. The white gold version already proved out the demand in PM at $30k. This is less with a bracelet and sub PM for Titanium. People that don’t buy based on “cost to submariner” are not the market.
