16610LV or Alaska Project

Hi all

Which one would you add to the collection ? LV is V serial and both of them are NOS. Price is same as 20K.

Thanks

The Omega wears much larger, so that in itself is a factor. I'd go for the LV as it's the 50 anniversary sub and will never come back. But NOS?? Are you buying to wear or keep?

If full set then Alaska project, way way more rare and definitely very unique.

Hi, buying to keep. 16610LV has all the stickers like fresh from the factory. I can wear the Omega since it has no stickers but its unworn in the end.

I'd pick Hulk over both. Hate it or love it, it's arguably been one of the most influential watches ever made. Otherwise, Alaska project for me. Only because it's more unique.

I think everyone knows my answer.

16610 LV. At that price! Especially NOS.

The Alaska is a great watch but $20K is awfully pricey for a novelty. If it really calls you then there is no saying no however

I'll always prefer a Sub over Omega. Nothing against Omega.

My vote is for the Sub and then wear it, who cares if it has stickers on it. They are meant to be removed and then enjoy the heck out of it.

The LV for me. I am not the biggest fan of Omega.

Hmmm a chronograph ...

I guess my thought is which do you prefer, a diver or a chronograph?

IMO the Alaska Project is a real collectors item, whereas the LV is just a colorful Rolex. I’m surprised this is even a question, because they are really so different. Do you know the history of the Alaska Project? What else is in your collection? If you are a NASA/space/Speedmaster fan, go with the Alaska project hands down - its original version was a true space watch prototype.

Again, you are comparing a watch to which there is only 1970 pieces vs a mass produced submariner. Just need to decide what you value personally.

Depends whether you’re buying to wear or collect. To wear? Sub. To collect? Speedmaster.

Depends what you like. Speedmasters wear large. I love the LV and its a do anything watch with meaning to the brand. Sounds like a winner to me.

From my own perspective, I much prefer the 16610LV due to the sizing compared to the Alaska Project.

Thanks for the answers. I have most of the important speedmasters ST1 Alaska, Ultraman, Tintin, Snoopy 45th, Trilogy, Snoopy 50th, moonwatch. Cant justify the price being same as NOS Kermit.

Judging by your Speedy collection, I'd get the Alaska project. I personally don't see why Kermits are so sought after. Never been a fan of it or the Hulk.

I was offered an Alaska project at omega but bought the Kermit instead. I have gotten more positive comments from the LV at Rolex AD than any other of my Rolex watches.
