No one has whipped out the calipers yet, anyone who has seen one in person is only going on speculation from handling it at W&W. If anything at all it might be up to 1mm bigger which is pretty insignificant in my mind.
Daytona afficionados will continue to enjoy them, the haters will continue to nitpick. |

Repeating myself … has anyone measured an 116518/19, etc., and knows / can tell us the actual measurements of one of those watches ???
I do not have one, so I have not measured one … But since everyone is saying / thinks that the 126500 will be the same size as a 116518/19, etc., it would be interesting to know the actual measurements. |

Ok, I admit it ... the new 126500 is really 42.5mm ... it's huge! Congrats to all those hoping to get it.
No, you are dreaming if you think it will wear any bigger than the 116500. The lugs are bigger underneath, but you won't notice that. It will wear the same. |

If someone sells me both for MSRP, I can help measure with my calipers. Regardless of how unlikely that is, it’s a genuine offer lol

I like both. I have the 116500LN and the 1161519LN. So like having 2 distinct pieces. We’ll see how the new one looks in person. Ideally i’d keep all three if I like the new one too or trade my steel for a new steel one.

On my callipers it came in at 39.8mm from 10 to 4 (or as close as the bottom pusher allows). Bracelet width at widest point of first link beside lugs was 19.8 mm For reference my 39mm BB58 came in at 39.2 mm (3.30 to 9.30 - no crown guards) my 16600 at 39.5 mm (10 to 4) and my CHNR at 40.8! (10 to 4) but a measurement from 9 to 3 (crown unscrewed) from underneath came in at 40.2 mm. Its fair to say that crown guards make accurate diameter measurements difficult because you're not measuring the true diameter of the watch were you to measure a circle excluding the crown guards. My PM Daytona measurement came in as expected. As did the others. My BB58 and 16600 "wear" the same size (thickness aside) the Daytona in the middle and the CHNR the largest. As the measurements suggest they would. My readings should all be taken with an allowance of +/- 0.1 mm for reasons of not marking up my cases (pm specifically) being more important than absolute accuracy. But they will be close enough. What I can confirm is that if the new Daytona is 40mm Rolex did NOT reduce the PM case size as stated by Adrian Barker on his you tube channel

I have never owned a steel Daytona. I predominantly buy in secondary sellers shops - which of course always always have an abundance of steel Daytonas. The steel Daytona is probably
The only Rolex I’ve put on and immediately took straight back off and said no that’s not for me. I can’t tell you why exactly, I just don’t like it - or like others more. Especially when the price tag is that of a PM model? Hellllll no. I have a couple PM Daytonas as I think you know :) which I do indeed love! Maybe I’ll like the new steel one more , not that matters as I won’t be able to get one. |
