would a rubber strap ruin the look of a rolex

Would a good quality rubber strap, like the ones from Rubber B / Everest, ruin the classic look and prestige of a Rolex watch? What are your thoughts

You don't need to say much about that, unless yes

Straps are perfectly acceptable on a Rolex. You could get a rubber Tropic strap, instead of a bracelet, on the Submariner all the way up into the ‘90s. In fact, decades ago, the bracelet was simply an option over getting a strap on most models.

Well it can’t ruin much given that it’s a temporary add-on.

That said, it could ruin the look..subjectively.

Yeah the old Rolex-approved Tropic look is better than the expensive fitted types, IMO. Easier to fit, too.

I don't think so. I have a black RubberB on my 116500 white Daytona and i've been wearing it like that for the last year or so. I find it very comfortable and more importantly, it's a bit less shiny for when I'm at work etc. Do what makes you happy.
Don't forget Rolex sell Oysertflex straps with some models so I don't think mine looks out of place.
You can see some pics of it on my Instagram rolex_tudor_showcase

Rubber, nylon, leather, or OEM bracelet; you wear your watch as you see fit. It's yours to utilize.

I’ve seen examples that look great. YM above looks great for example. I’ve also seen examples that look horrible too. Personally, I think Rolex bracelets are tough to beat, so it’s not something I’d consider.

I think rubber straps are ugly, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder

I think it absolutely ruins the classic look and the prestige.

And that’s kind of what I was going for here

I think they look great. I actually prefer standard style straps as opposed to the fitted kind.

That is such a classic look, love it! Not a big fan of the fitted aftermarket straps, just not my style, but love the look of an older Sub on a Tropic for sure. Unfortunately modern models seem to have their lug holes in a weird spot on the lugs for strap wear.

A rubber strap would ruin my Rolex. I can't speak for yours. You do what suits you.

I’d argue the Exp II would be one of the best modern Rolex watches on a plain rubber strap.

I often wear an aftermarket RubberB with a red line on my SD43. I have one in TT and SS. I do NOT like rubber on PM....i.e., YM.

You can wear any strap you want with a Rolex. I wear what is comfortable and stopped caring what others think a long long time ago.

In my personal opinion, yes it both ruins the look and "cheapens" the value or percieved value. I would never consider purchasing a Rolex or any other expensive watch that had a rubber band.

Is that a Horus strap? I nearly went for that combo or their miami blue camo. Might pull the trigger.

The Rolex bracelets are the best in the business. I personally don't like Rolex on anything but those.

I do use a RubberB on my Tudor, but never my Rolexes.

Rolex are tools meant to be worn on natos.

Put it on what you want.

Have fun.
