I know people in several of those places and they are as happy as can be.

People really should stop watching the news so much. There are good and bad areas in every city.

I like cheeseburgers too, but I’m not quite sure that’s enough to declare “happiest”.

Where do they come up with this stuff.

Fremont CA is basically a bedroom community of the Silicon Valley just outside San Jose.

It's also the home of a Tesla plant which employees 22,000 people, that's had a ton of racial and sexual harassment lawsuits.https://www.news18.com/news/world/se...t-4764011.html

I used to play hockey at the rink there. Not much of a city.

San Jose is actually a pretty cool place to live. I lived there for 7 years.

Wallet Hub? Maybe the Happy part is the quantity of 'personal care' expenditures. Or are they combining dispensary sales too.

I agree.

Feel-good news stories don't garner ratings anymore.

Kind of strange criteria. One of the criteria is "lowest percentage of people living in poverty".

Well excluding San Francisco's homeless issues and history, in the Silicon valley with the cost of housing, I'm sure there are very few people living in poverty because they had to move away. A shack is in the millions of dollars.

It's like Beverly Hills, has a very small percentage of people living in poverty. Well duh. They can't afford to live there and the cops chased away all the homeless people.

My neighboring town is 22, which makes me happy.

Detroit is last.

Direct quote from the original story:

For years, researchers have studied the science of happiness and found that its key ingredients include a positive mental state, healthy body, strong social connections, job satisfaction and financial well-being.

To be fair, California gives away free hard drugs and needles, so i can see the attraction. Another great benefit, anything at stores priced under a few hundred dollars is completely free for the taking.
