It took them 5 years to realise what an awesome beast they had partnered with me to create!

If you could do it all over again would you rebuild the watch on the new 43mm ROO platform or keep in the current 44m case?

The highly skeletonized manual tourbillon Chrono movement with the rose gold finishing in mine I find much more appealing than the newer automatic variant which goes in the 43mm case. That said the newer movement does suit the sharper 43mm case so AP have done a great job there with the refreshed line up. If I was doing it again I would probably want to try and find a way to use the 26241 case with the movement from mine but it might not be aesthetically workable having a very traditional skeleton movement in a super modern case. I am not good enough at photo shop to try it but I suspect it wouldn’t look right. I find the 26241 case absolutely fantastic but the movement in it a little too industrial for my own tastes.

Everything about this piece unique screams AP haute horologie at its finest — pairing the classic timelessness of the ROO case with the intricacies of a hand-finished complicated movement. Honoring the past, while at the same time pushing the design envelope forward. To my point in a recent thread, this just shows how toy-like in comparison the newest Concept and ROO Tourbillion Chrono 26622CE come off.

I heard that AP only commission one offs like this if you’re 7 foot 2 and as debonaire as Roger

It’s really cool. They should post all the 1 offs they have done. I wonder what else is floating around

The pics on Conker’s IG page are great.

Regarding how it’s listed on the AP website, wouldn’t it have been more accurate for them to label it a ‘piece unique’ instead of ‘limited edition of 1’ since it was not a released piece? Or any other alternative to piece unique, the point being to highlight that this was designed to a collector’s specs.
Regardless, that is cool that they put it up there.

Notice also they don’t have a picture of the back which has my name on it. I also saw another piece in the same section which was clearly a customer commission. A ROO grand comp with black stones.

You have an amazing collection!

Would you mind sharing how many AP you have/ had and when AP reached out for the commission?

I remember your journey documented on this forum... a truly exceptional ROO...

Yes, it's first time I see this black gem one... and I also saw they put this RO tourbillon, also piece unique...

https://www.audemarspiguet.com/com/e...1220ST.01.html

And don't know when they launch this 20 piece perpetual...

https://www.audemarspiguet.com/com/d...1220BA.01.html

Beside the pieces unique AP did for many charity auctions the first one I remember was ROO Perpetual Calendar POUR ROCCO... in one small watch meeting, full serious, I made a joke that is commissioned by world most famous porn star and that he is a fellow watch collector... I think some of the attendees still spread that knowledge around ...

AP yellow gold is awesome.

Would be nice if AP could update the Legacy section with a more complete record of past watches, including unique pieces and special editions. Maybe include some back stories/background info. A bit of a virtual museum.

How the project came about is a long story and not one to be shared I am afraid. Needless to say I had bought at a guess at least 30-40 pieces via my two preferred ADs and then AP directly over multiple years including some big pieces.
