Thoughts on trading a 44mm ROO in RG for a 15500st black dial?
Purchased my first AP back in 2013 from boutique, a 44mm ROO in RG 26400OR. Enjoyed the watch for 10 years but I find myself buying into the hype of the stainless bracelet Royal Oak. Got me thinking of trading in my watch + some cash for a 15500ST that is just two years old. Do you guys ever consider retail values when it comes to switching watches? My heart tells me to go for what I like currently / the trend, but my gut tells me that I'm trading in a watch that has significantly higher retail but isn't as popular at the moment.
Any opinions would be greatly appreciated! |

IMHO, get what you love. Sounds like you already made the decision based on your post but are having a difficult time justifying it due to value. Value is irrelevant if you don’t like something. And the RO stainless steel bracelet is all that it’s cracked up to be and then some.
Buy what you love, you won’t regret the Royal Oak. You only live once! Here’s a picture of mine to help you make your decision Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Well, yeah, you should also take a picture of OPs watch to make it fair...

an absolute no, IMHO. Both nice pieces. But that would be a trade down if you ask me. the wrist presence of a rose gold ROO cannot be discounted here. You have a gorgeous watch. Keep it. Add the RO.

A basic 15500st is nice, but a rose gold 44mm offshore in a pretty damn solid configuration is just levels above And I say this as someone with a "basic" RO hah |
