I do not think you will be seeing great deals on the 16610 but you will be paying more for them especially if they are LNIB late series.

I think it depends on if you have one already or are about to sell one (value to rise or remain the same) OR are a buyer (price will drop with the new ones). I personally think.................................I will wait and see.

if the recent release of the GMT-Master II with the ceramic bezel is any indication, we should see the 16610 increase slightly in value.
i just ordered a 16610 (should land tomorrow). i hope it's not taking a price hit! :) |

If we were to go with the II-c and the DSSD launches as examples, the 16610 would actually enjoy a modest price increase.

I agree with Jib; I expect we'll see a slight price increase for the 16610.

I doubt we will see much of anything, there are so many 16610's out there.

I like the new subs but can see where ALOT of people wont...keeping the "old" subs desirable...and hence...holding good value.

Not sure, my dealer said if anything the demand for the 16610 will go up and that he would have NO reason to discount at all, once the new sub is announced. Apparently he still gets calls regarding the old Sea Dweller. So get it now or forever hold your peace !!

16610 was produced in mass so I expect slight knee jerk increase unlike the old SD which comes in lesser quantity. My 2 cents

I think there are too many out there right now to see a price jump. If anyting, as someone mentioned earlier, people will sell old for something new. Maybe in 4 to 6 years the demand will out weigh the supply. The used market has plenty to go around.

Maybe i am blind but it seems to me that we have already seen a run up in price over the last 6 months; with more to come re: the price of the ND, SD, Date Sub and LV.
Its all in the eyes of the beholder when it comes to old skool or new skool. I for one am betting on the legacy of the old style watches with their beautiful contour versus the upcoming rectangle. |

it depends on the performance of the new sub. if it becomes as popular as new gmt2c then probably the old sub will just retain its value maybe even lose some value if people really go for the new sub. i doubt if value will rise.

So htc8p you are saying that since the GMT2C came out the old 2s are just holding their value? This certainly doesnt match with what i have seen. I have seen the 2s steadily increase in value since the release of the 2C while the 2C's have fallen.
I for one would not consider trading a new 2 for a 2C. My guess is that the Subs, particularly the LVs are headed the same way. New LV or old LV - gimme the old LV any day. Just my opinion. |

as for gmtII they are rare. hardly see them that's why their value hold or even increases.
but as for the regular subs i am not that sure. for the LV i think it will hold since its commemorative 50th anniv. the 16610 value really depends on the new sub. but im pretty sure that there are already a lot of 16610 out there. |

There are not a lot of GMT2's out there????? I believe that the production date began somewhere in the 1983 era. That is a 24 year run before the 2C's came out. Am thinking that there is a sizable number of GMT2's out there, but for some reason folks seemed to have re-fallen in love with the GMT2 following the arrival of the 2C. Am not disrespecting the 2C if that is your cup of tea but it just seems to me as an observer of the market that the new C caused many to find greater beauty in the old style GMT - thereby increasing the demand and the price. May not happen with the Subs, but i would place money on the fact that it will. |

Price of LV sub will sure to command a higher value as time passes since it has only produced for around 6 years plus. The production number for LV sub is small like ss daytona. The shortest production compared to orange hand explorer2 and ss zenith daytona.
