Working is a good first step. Outside of a home and car, I don’t buy anything I couldn’t buy with cash, however I’m a sucker for free money and take all 0% financing I can get on larger purchases to have more investable assets in the present. But the thought of no loan would probably take away a little stress. I also already own a home and have no kids.

114060 ND Sub as a 43rd birthday gift to myself.

Happy Birthday to me!
If you saved up for 3 years you could rock a Gold Daytona or DayDate without a single worry in life. Why did you settle for the 114060?

Maybe just maybe he didn't want to "Rock" a gold Daytona or day date.

Because the 114060 is a nicer watch than either?

No, at least not for me. My luxury items are funded with disposable income, never money I need for necessities.

I make a comfortable salary and live below my means.

Made sure I tucked a little bit away every month after all expenses and retirement accounts were handled

Only on TRF would buying a Sub be called "settling."

I saved and had the money 2 times. But there are things in life that happen, that prevent us from doing the things we want to do to, but to do the things we have to do. I've always felt blessed. Save, put the money in a savings account and every dollar you can save. Then charge your Rolex (don't agree to the 3 percent) and get the points on the CC.

I paid for my 114060 via PayPal using my Freedom Unlimited card while it is still in the initial 0.0% APR period, then rolled all the points to my Sapphire Reserve card.

Basically like $200 taken off the price, or essentially a refund of the 3% PayPay fees.

Well hard work pays off that's for sure, but if you have other priorities
and can't really make ends meet there is no need to rush up and get a watch you can't
afford. Just saying.

I'm trying to save up to buy a condo.

$7k sets me back for a bit, which is cool. Life is short and I don't wanna wait any longer.

$20k sets me back far longer than I am ok with.

Also, I've always wanted a Sub.

As far as I'm concerned I have successfully crossed "watch" off my life's bucket list.

Now for that condo!
