Tight or loose
Fellow TRF, how do you wear your watches? Tight or loose? What do you think are the advantages and disadvantages of each?
I wear mine tight. Cheers. Sent from my iPhone X using Tapatalk

Snug, to prevent excessive wear and I don't like it moving around on my wrist.

Slightly loose for me so my watches fit a bit more loose in winter than during summer months. I can move the watch about 3/4 of an inch up or down on my wrist.
I can just wedge my pinky finger in between my wrist and the clasp and I don't have giant meat hooks for hands. |

Like others above me, I wear my watches snug.
Nothing less appealing than a watch on a bracelet flopping around on someone's wrist. |

Fairly tight. I cannot fit the tip of my pinky all the way through at the clasp. I don’t wear it tight enough to cause dimples on my wrist.
Mostly, trying to make sure I don’t wear out the bracelet or have the watch splash around my wrist (SD43 is mighty big chunk of metal) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Looser for me. Find tight a bit uncomfortable especially in the summer.

Slightly loose. I like the tip of my pinky to just barely fit between bracelet and wrist. I feel like if it is too tight that will stretch the bracelet out. After I golf it usually fits snug.

Loose fit.
Sweaty skin under the metal is a nasty feel. |

I like it a little loose from a comfort stand point, but tight is supposed to be better in preventing bracelet stretch.

Snug. Any energy that can move the watch around on your wrist is energy not being used to wind the watch. Additionally, a watch that is too loose will (assuming you are right handed) cause the crown to press into the back of your hand. Too tight is uncomfortable, too loose is sub-optimal from a performance perspective... you want it just right.

Loose enough to get pinky pad under clasp easily. I'm not wearing handcuffs here after all. (not that I know what that feels like, just sayin').

I prefer a little loose as I am an expander, as the bishop said to the actress, my days of slim fit shirts and trousers are ending as I just prefer comfort mostly now.

Loose and floppy wears out the bracelet links and won't let the winding rotor function as it should.
So a snug fit is the proper fit, and the only way I have worn my watches. |

Tight because:
- it feels more comfortable to me, - it allows more spinning of the rotor thus keeping power reserve and accuracy higher, - it'll be less prone to banging against surrounding objects, - it reduces likelihood of crown digging in your hand, - it causes less wear of the links, - it looks better. |

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Funny, I was thinking the same thing. However, to answer the question, I wear mine snug most of the time, but not tight enough to leave a mark. I don't like the feeling of my watch sliding around.

Loose but not floppy.
I don't wear it snug, especially in summer months, due to comfort. I'm not worried about bracelet wear--if the bracelet wears out, I will replace it. |

I prefer a snug fit. A positive part of wearing your watches tighter is a supposed decrease in wear on the bracelet. Less movement and friction between the pins and links.

Tight. Mainly wear SD43 and it must be worn tight for good fit.
