Awesome watch. If I had to choose only one Sub it would be the no-date - so clean. Enjoy!

Wow this thread really blew up! Thank you all so, so much! I am so excited and I really appreciate the welcome into official Rolex ownership! When I woke up this morning, I was a little panicked that perhaps I had imagined all of this and none of at had actually happened. Luckily, the Sub was sitting on the desk so this is either real or very a long dream.

Congrats. The sub C date was my first R as well. 3 years on and it’s still my most worn. Enjoy and wear it well.

This is my first Rolex, and it will hopefully be the watch I will wear every day for the next 30+ years. I wound up going traditional, with a 40mm no date SS Sub (114060). A dealer who has great reviews here and elsewhere had a 2 year old model with some light cosmetic marks (mainly on the bezel), and priced it aggressively. For me, that is perfect as this watch is going to get plenty of other marks on it from daily wear, and it got me into a nearly new Sub with a great movement and a factory warranty for a pretty reasonable price.

It was an exciting package to get. It took a very long time to get here (and I am not talking about the shipping). This is something I've spent quite a while working towards and I'm still kind of in shock that I am currently wearing a Rolex Submariner.

If this is my only Rolex, I will be perfectly content. At the same time, I can see why so many people have multiple Subs...

(I'm excited, I rarely go out these days, and I had to share with other watch lovers!)
Congratulations: I never tire of reading stories like this! Scoring it at a good price is a great bonus considering the secondary market and current state of  Rolex watches in general.

Now. the watch isn't going to 'change your life' or bless you with Eternal Enlightenment it *will* provide you the ongoing bliss of slipping it on in the morning and getting a personal thrill of owning such a classic Rolex. Or the small buzz realizing, after a long wait, you have an object of quality, luxury and to be honest: prestige. As long as you don't flaunt it, there's nothing wrong with being proud of your accomplishments. (Just keep it to yourself and stay humble.) Let others ask the questions if they're inerested. When the 'is it real or how much?' questions inevitably come up, I just point 'em to the web. Your call on that.

Hope you enjoy your watch as much as I enjoy my DJ's and wear it in good health.

Nice! Glad you bought a no-date Sub, for me the way to go! The classic Rolex. If my experience with my 25 year old 14060 (my only Rolex) as a daily watch is anything to go by you'll be very content...as I am! Enjoy it, wear the hell out of it and ignore the dings, swirls and scratches it will collect! A Sub is made to be worn!
