1975 Expansion band - have you ever seen this marking?

I know better, and I’m not sure if it’s a 19mm, but I have taken a chance.

Ever see this Rolex stamping on a oyster expansion band? It has ‘75’, but I don’t see a country of manufacture.

Thanks in advance. Don’t laugh too hard in my face.
Sincerely,
Harry

It could be a locally built bracelet. Possibly Mexico or somewhere in South America.
There were import issues in the 70s so a lot of bracelets were made in-country in the Americas. Similar to the USA made bracelets from the same time.

Thanks Matt. The stamping seemed too legit to pass up. I have always wanted to see how the spring mech works and try my hand at a repair. I don’t know if this is a 18, 19 or 20mm band. Prob 19. Thanks for your comment

USA bracelets also had unstamped end links so im guessing it was made somewhere in the Americas

Dan, very nice of you to post that. Here in Montreal we have an 8pm curfew so I’m venturing into repairs that will end up doomed !

That sounds like a fairly cheap way to stay out of trouble, Harry.

Harry sounds like he could get himself into trouble well before 8pm tbh.

I paid $200 for it. So I concur with both of you guys that I could get into quite a bit of trouble for that in Montreal. Now, if I was in California, I would just blow it all at In N Out burger and Roscoes. Best to give that band a shot.
