My Rolex Explorer 1 1016 Gilt

Took me along while to find a Rolex Explorer 1 1016 with gilt chapter ring dial but it was well worth it. Hard to find one with a decent dial. In fact, two were offered to me last week, both in great condition but the seller of the more desirable 1016 with tropical dial changed his mind.

The watch i ended up with has a beautiful dial that is still quite glossy and the gilt writing is truly awesome. The case appears to have been polished lightly but with no dings or dents. The hands i believe and the riveted oyster bracelet are not period correct. Maybe, someone can tell me if the hands are not for a 1962 model? Nevertheless, still a fine addition to my collection.

Instant class ! Seller w/ the tropical dial changed their mind? Meh. It happens.

But this one is awesome. Just fantastic.
