FPJ Octa Anniversary Allocations
This is a terrific anniversary piece. I was surprised that Mr. Journe would announce a remake. However, after thinking about it some more, it does give some of the newbie die hard collectors the opportunity to get a taste of a ‘vintage’ Journe where most of us will never have a chance to own one. I am a fan of this. Can anyone confirm that these beauties have been already allocated? Whoever you are, dang your lucky! (If it just me or is there a big space between 0 and 24 on the power reserve? I checked the older models and did not see that anywhere. Any special reference?) Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Yeah to even be considered i think you needed at least 3 previous FPJ watches and you need to submit an application form including an essay at the end.(not joking)

I guess most just get their kid to write something for them but it’s still funny and sad to me.

Lol. I can just imagine the essay being:
"I deserve this watch because I'm rich as f$%^." |

Hearing that they required a personal essay for a piece may have just turned me off of the brand in its entirety. I am not a guy who would be buying multiple pieces every year, but I am (was?) in discussions with the local Miami boutique about my first watch. I should probably try to get a second source on that news before I overreact.

There's like an inch of space to write something. It's not an essay. |

I think different countries may have gotten different forms as on mine, there certainly was much more than an inch to answer that question haha Should have done it in French OR alternatively gone for the "shock" factor and say, how sh*t the watch is and maybe that would have turned his head Either way its not gonna happen for me after I heard Journe is himself reviewing them.

That’s probably what they tell everyone and then the managers just allocate based on spend lol

Its what I thought but when my boutique manager was "actively" trying to help me with my application, like adding watches that I have on order but not yet owned, i felt honestly he did not have too much control over the process and was just genuinely trying to help me achieve the highest chance possible. OR he thoughts its all futile but wanted to look like he was helpful.

Anything that stops us seeing this watch being resold for 4x or 5x the retail in a couple of months is good by me. If a few folks fall away because they don’t like the silliness of the process there’s nothing lost.
Given the production numbers, overall and not just for this piece, and the brand’s stated desire to try and address flipping I have more hope in Journe controlling this than PP, AP or others. |

Good luck man hope it works out. I just assume people are lazy and spend is generally objective. But with their size they can do things differently if they want.

I really like the comment on allowing newer faithful members access to something special. I am guessing some of those long time FPJ fiends are straight up ballers and already have authentic brass movements in their collections. Hard to compete with those French speaking 20+ years friends of FP. But.. I agree and wish these special pieces go to loving watchboxes and not the grey market.
