Having concerns about DRuss

Hey guys,

Anyone dealt with DRuss recently apart from Cheng ?

I would mostly appreciate as I sent the money to him and I am having concerns about him...

Thanks so much,

Yeah it’s looking bad. I had him over the phone and nothing adds up. He is in Washington and not Texas so I ask what time is it and he says 10am. And then when I check online it shows that 1pm.
So I tell him that’s wrong and when I asked him his name he takes time to give it to me and the give me a different one that in the bank details...
Anyway.
A scammer !
So watch out !

There’s a good chance that the feedback left for Cheng is fake , just saying worth checking IMHO.

Having an issue here as well. "bought" the Milgauss from him. Tried to wire money, bank refused it due to fraudulent activity. He wanted me to wire to two other accounts. Nope....

yeah i actually emailed this guy about that milgauss z-blue he posted up earlier this week, and my scammer radar was going off, big-time. his instagram page doesn't seem to exist.

oh, and then i asked him "could we do the transaction via paypal?" he replied, "no, i don't do paypal. wires only".

okaaaaay then, have a nice day.

Did you get your money back? If so then how? I've been on this end before buying off a guitar forum after using transferwise and noticing I've just been scammed the next day I couldn't get a refund back even though it's still showing transfer in progress. I was sending money overseas anyway. Please let me know

This is why I never use bank wire unless it’s a trusted seller on the forum. Even then I prefer cc. It’s worth the extra couple hundred dollars for peace of mind!!

Absolutely, I am sooo amazed how many people send out wires and then are surprised that the seller keeps the funds. In an act of kindness to the seller , I only buy w CC , so they won’t be unduly tempted to keep my money ! Ha! james in San Antonio Tx

(NEW UPDATES)

My transfer has been cancelled by TransferWise! So my money is coming back to me. Not sure if it's because of the work done by the fraud department at TW or the fact the the scammer bank did realised what was going because of previous transaction but the result is there and that's what matters.

I guess I still have my lucky star around despite my stupidity...

I hop others will get their money back too !

That's great. I've had a few people pay me with Transferwise recently and the transactions have been very fast (i.e. minutes) and cheaper than Paypal for the sender. Good to know they're on the ball with fraud, too.

That’s great news.

Did the seller know you were using TransferWise? Or were you able to send the money without him knowing?

TransferWise is not a scam. In fact, it is one of the best FX, international intrabank Xfer tool out there.

Just like everything else in this world, know your products and you will be fine.

TransferWise are 100% not scammers and I would caution trusting anyone who says they are. They are either unbelievably ignorant or have a vested interest in you not using them.

They are the cheapest, easy to use and fast.

I just checked my bank account and the money is back!!!

Congrats on the recovery.

The new name for TransferWise is just Wise. If they missed the boat with their first branding, I guess it’s best to fix it now.

The fintech has a nice startup story…just sharing for those who never heard of it.

Like many good stories, this one starts with two friends.

They’re both from Estonia. Taavet, who was the first employee at Skype, lived in London but got paid in euros. Kristo worked for Deloitte, also lived in London, and got paid in pounds. But he had a mortgage in euros back in Estonia.

They both moved their money with their banks — which had expensive fees and bad exchange rates. They knew there had to be a better way. So they put their heads together and invented a beautifully simple workaround.

Each month, they looked up the actual exchange rate on Reuters. Taavet put his euros into Kristo’s Estonian bank account, and Kristo topped up Taavet’s UK account with his pounds. Both got the currency they needed almost instantly, and neither paid an extra cent on bad exchange rates or unreasonable charges.

There was no waiting, no stress, and no extra cost. ‘There must be others like us…’ they thought. So they started a company, called it TransferWise, and hired a team to build the best way to send money between countries.

In the Spring of 2021 they pivoted…per the website:
“As we grew, we realised that people needed more than just money transfers. So we added a multi-currency account, a debit card, and a business account, and changed our name to Wise.”

I smell an IPO coming WISE
