Is it me or is this 50% lower than market price(Patek 5712) on our classified section

This looks to be way under market and too good to be true. Any references?

Pretty good deal! I wouldn’t touch it myself due to that.

Looks like he/she has been trying to sell this and another grand complication for over a year now.

I don't know if this is a sign of a scammer, but if he's a legit seller, I can see why his prices are what they are.

Also curious if anyone else has any color on this - you know how the old saying goes... Anything would be greatly appreciated.

I would not risk that kind of money on anyone I did not know personally, and for a very long time. My daddy raised no fools.

Spending many thousands for new at an authorized dealer is another story.

Ask the mods to contact the seller, and have them do a timestamp. Easy way to figure out what's going on.

Icon12 Well

I am not a professional seller, so I have only few references online. I won't give my boutique connections as references, forget about it. I am here not for a dispute and won't continue bragging here after this comment. The hype created by the sale of the olive green Nautilus and further chaos on the market doesn't mean people are ready to pay/buy rare but still regular 5712 4 times the price. Show me at least one person who bought a 5712/A for 120k. At least one person. You have eyes and brain to see for how long those listing are still there. If you would participate the auctions like I do, you would see that normally the 5712 doesn't go over EUR 79k. Bragging is easy isn't it?

Great work O P for bringing this to light. I had seen both posts many many times and thought the same thing. I noticed that on the most recent post he had he stated the shipping would be via Ferrari or something and his location was all over the place. Not saying thats not normal but definitely didnt give me good vibrations lol

As they say if it seems to good to be true then it probably is, Again great detective work done here on TRF

Fair enough. Hey I've been wrong many many many times in my life. Did I say many

But one thing that stands out to me is the watches for sale wouldnt any Grey dealer pay your asking price if not more? Why have them listed here on TRF for months and months on end when at those prices that money could've been had in few hours

I too tried to transact with him while I was in Europe a few times over the summer and fall. I was in a nearby city to where he evidently was both times I was there and offered to meet with him in his city, however all of a sudden he was unavailable as he would be traveling or couldn't because of covid restrictions blah blah blah. Pure bs scammer. He had every excuse in the book, so I told my friend ( who I was trying to help with the acquisition) to let this one pass. We all know that creepy sensation when dealing with a scammer, and he's definitely one of them. Stay away and save yourself from the headache of his bs stories.

Also posted about this guy on a separate thread here was his response when I initially messaged him…

“ I am not a watch dealer. I don't sell watches for a living. I have only few references from the watch sales, one in France and Canada, the second one in Australia. I will not use a third party. I am reputable businessman and have businesses in two continents.”

Not sure how “reputable businessman” translates to credibility in selling a 100k+ watch on the forums and also adding that he is not a watch dealer… but a-lot of red flags… also before this message I asked him if I could get an independent and reputable dealer to check the watch and act as escrow (which I would’ve fully paid for) he said no per message above.

David, I was once ripped off by the third party, a dealer who had "reputation", no more. It is strange that you couldn't think of it. I said I will deal only straight directly with a buyer, no third parties. Anyway this discussion goes nowhere.

No fool will part with 100k and not have someone look at it.
You are nuts and will never sell those pieces.

Pointe finale.

Saw it, immediately figured it was a scam. If its not a scam, and i was in the market, i would go anywhere near it. No reason to leave that much money on the table. I could call 10 dealers right now and each one would beat that by a large margin. Something isn’t right.

Agreed I did the same earlier. In fact he's reposted instead of bumping his post. Ignored all mails asking for meet.

It was up again for a short while, but it looks like it got taken down again as his account is now banned. Good riddance the guy was really sketchy with all his answers, kept tiptoeing around common sense and deflecting.

Just wondering why scam ads are removed completely?

They're exceptionally useful if they remain, as the 'seller' often relists elsewhere.

Searches often link to RF, but when you follow it, there's nothing there.
