I am still trying to work out why someone would send a YouTuber a watch, but hey ho……
Somewhere in between sounds right to me. I don't see any scammers or criminals here, just a bunch of asshats behaving badly but maybe not unexpectedly. When I buy a watch I send the money ASAP because until the watch is paid for, I haven't bought anything, all I've done is talk. Stringing someone along for weeks or months is BS. Also, keeping the money for watches you don't have is BS. Sold the watches? Send the money back. Shady dealers play both of these games all the time, slow payment, selling watches they don't have, it's all bs. Think they're all getting what they deserve. I'll be happy when all the watch flippers and pseudo dealers find real jobs.

As for the unreturned watches, well, that sucks too for everyone. Everyone thinks they're doing the other guy a favor for free and everyone comes out pissed off.

What's right is right, if you have someone's property or money and they ask for it returned you should damn well return it, but I have no sympathy for any of the people involved in all this since everyone was trying to get a deal, everyone was trying to make money off someone else and it all blew up. Amateur hour.

In Oisin’s latest livestream you are referring to, he did show the four modded Seikos that the owner has persistently asked to have back for going on 17 months; but worryingly, he invited his viewers to send him money to buy them off him (this, well after the original arrangement has been revoked, and the dude just wants his stuff back).

More worryingly, he did not even show the aforementioned Gruen watch the old disabled guy wants back. So it seems like a lot of dumb moves from Oisin.

I think he’s running on myopic narcissistic instincts right now to simply assert a sense of superiority and victimhood.

I think the Seiko buying thing was a bit tongue in cheek to be fair….in a later live stream Oisin said the Gruen watch was with his lawyer so it can be handed over.

It makes zero sense for Oisin to steal these watches, they hold little value and admitting to still having them live on air is pretty dumb if he was trying to steal them…police would have a field day lol.

I agree they need to be returned though

Can you be a "grey" anymore without having a YouTube channel and a messy meltdown every other month? Doesn't look like it. I would think that after the TPG clusterf**k they would realize that questionable ethics and practices are not a good look. Especially via a public forum. And as the market corrects or crashes, and as they revert from offices to backpacks, they will post new videos with variations on this theme: "We screw the next guy and pass the savings on to you."

Looks like Oisin has now posted the watches to Ade (the Bogey Gruen) and Usman (the modded Seikos, including money for one he sold during a recent livestream). They haven’t received them yet but it is looking good.

I should never have bought into this drama, but am glad it is looking better for most of the people involved, including Oisin.

Am glad all will turn out well. Sometimes a situation needs a bit of sunlight...

I had an opportunity to listen to the phone call between Oisin and Nico … have to say my opinion of Oisin changed dramatically for the worse

Yes, that was really bad! Nobody’s perfect and I have certainly acted badly at times in my life, but the level of manipulation and aggression in that phone call was shocking and creepy.

In very good news, this morning on another forum the old bloke who owns the Gruen watch reported he has now got his watch back (and all the provenance stuff with it).

It’s hard to put any defence of Oisin’s behaviour on the phone call but Nico was clever to be ultra calm as he was recording it all. We don’t really know what has been said between them up till then but Oisin certainly claims to have been provoked. From what I can tell, the Nico / Oisin issue reflects badly on both. There is no excuse though for Oisin not returning people’s watches though.

The whole drama , has highlighted what a grubby , grifting scene the secondary watch market is. Oisin's creative talents include doxing the French girl he made the pronunciation video with and sounding like a mafia don in the phone call to Nico. The sooner that watches become 'yesterday's thing' , and those involved in the secondary market move on to other get rich quick schemes the better, IMHO.
