Inlaid 12-3-6-9 dials on old Oyster Perpetuals...embossed?

I think these inlaid 12-3-6-9 dials are cool. Does anyone know if they're embossed? Or what exactly is going on? Thanks!

Looks like they have been engraved.

.
Very nice.
There was one on a Phillips auction referred as "embossed" sunken..

Outstanding dial. A first for me, the more I look at "regular" OP and DJs the I love them.
