And in other watch news Paul Newman’s Daytona has be re-valued to $500K as it has been discovered the spring bars were replace in 1974.

Take a few deep breaths. The spring bars aren’t a big deal.

My wife keeps telling me I'm nuts. I'm trying to calm down, but .......

I might be able to find some of the right vintage I guess, but I'll still know they're not original to the watch...

is this a joke or are you being serious?

If serious I am very confident when you sell it they are not going to take out the spring bars and exam them one by one and realise there are not the original ones that came with the watch

I hope you are right. Some people are so fussy though...

This makes me so mad you work hard, save hard and then something like this happens and all the value retention is lost.

My thoughts are with you.

Did you ask for the original Swiss air to be retained and pumped back into the case as well?

Been doing a ittle research on those. Some interesting thoughts here:

I just wish I had thought to mention it before the service... lesson learned the hard way I guess..

hmm I wouldn't really worry about it, spring bars are consumable parts meant to be thrown away once they wear (same is true for a crystal)

Do you really think they would just toss a set of original spring bars? I hear there's a huge black market for those. Your spring bars have been flipped for a hefty profit by now.

Please don't say that! That would be the last straw. This was an RSC. They wouldn't, would they? I was surprised they said they had thrown them out. Perhaps I should have pushed it more while I was there. They probably could have found them...

Dude, save yourself the mental stress and get out of this “investment/value retention mindset”. If you want to invest, buy stocks. If you liked your watch enough to buy it, just wear it and enjoy it. You are only hurting yourself with this ridiculous notion. It’s meant to be worn and when parts need to be swapped out, RSC will take care of it. Your watch isn’t rare or special. There are millions like it. I don’t even know why I’m still typing. You have already heard enough from previous posts.

I guarantee the value of your 14060m will never be impacted by RSC replacing your spring bars. Not to add to your anxiety, but how are you sure Rolex didn’t modify anything in the movement upon service either?

I literally can't believe that you don't know if they used the EXACT same lubricant during service, as what was used during production.

The watch is almost worthless at this point. You definitely need to write a strongly worded letter to someone...
