Daytona 116500 gritty manual wind

Hey Y’all. I originally posted this in the general section, but figured I may get some additional response if posted in this forum. I know this topic has been covered in previous threads, but just wanted to get some updated feedback.

3 weeks ago I purchased a BNIB 116500 and everything was great until the othermorning. It was a few days since I wore it, so the watch was stopped, as such I wound it up as normal. Out of nowhere, there was a noticeable gritty feel when winding with the crown. I pulled crown to 2nd position and cycled the hands, but no improvement. Watch is still running great at +/-0.6spd.

My plan at this point is to let the watch run down power reserve completely and attempt to wind from complete stop.

Should note that the gritty feel through the crown is primarily felt when winding fast. When winding the crown slow, it feels more normal. I’m kinda scratching my head how this could happen so abruptly. It would make more sense to me if it occurred gradually overtime.

*UPDATE* since this was originally posted, the gritty winding is very intermittent. Sometimes it’s not there at all, other times only when winding fast and then disappears. I could be blowing this completely out of proportion, but it’s ultimately preventing me from wearing the watch as much as I would like.

I have a few Rolex’s and all have very similar crown feel when winding, including the Daytona up until other day.

Any feed back is appreciated. Main concern at this point is not damaging the movement
