Lovely shot! Thanks for posting.

Can anyone enlighten a newbie, did that vintage of Submariner originally have "cream" face markings or are the off-white markings a product of ageing? From the late sixties?

The patina (off white) is a product of ageing.
It happens, as the radioactive glow material called "Tritium" decomposes over time.
Most (if not all) watch companys have replaced "tritium" with luminova (non radioactive). So the "off white" is a "vintage-thing".

Mathing patina on the dial and hands is well sought after...
