Projector Setup?

Anyone forego the crazy LCD, LED and OLED prices for minimal sizes and go with a projector?

135” checking in here.

I'm looking into this for my garage/golf simulator. There are some really good projectors out there for not too much money. Looking good, OP!

Do it, for sure. I have a BenQ HT2050 that I picked up on eBay for $400 and the screen is a 135” Silver Ticket that ran me $200. I’ll take that price for the size any day. And the quality of the projector is great for the price. The best? No. But good enough for just about anyone, yes.

Thanks. I run an epsom maybe 8350 I think it was. I didn’t get a good picture of it going but it is so amazing. And dollar per inch no
Better deal than a projecter. The wall murals are all hand painted on the wal the Star Wars you see was actually copied off the original Star Wars poster. We really enjoy it

In terms of my early jobs I have seen some very nice projectors, extremely expensive, one I recall was $500k, that are beautiful.

That being said I don't really think that large flat LCDs are "crazy" expensive. I think you can buy a 70" 4k vizio today at target for like $709 and a $60 target gift card.

That being said, some really nice setups in this thread!

I’m sure I heard once projectors can offer the best screen image quality vs. TV

They absolutely can under specific circumstances. You need a great projector and controlled lighting with a good geometry of projection onto a great screen.

They aren't talking about like $1000 projectors, you'd need to spend > mid 5 digits to get to that point where the projectors start dominating TVs.

Yes I was shocked at the price of some of them ! Up to 40k IIRC

Same with all these things - the rabbit hole goes deep once you’re ‘in the know’

Don't have the room/lighting for a projector. But, would love to have one for the size per dollar ratio. Otherwise, I'm loving my C8 OLED!! Super nice media rooms posted here though guys!!

I have a 100” screen I bought from Best Buy and a projector from sams club and I use it on my back patio. For 600 bucks I have a movie screen by my fire pit. Well worth it.
