Are removable watch links on a watch all the same size?
I am going to get my 126711 sized tomorrow. They will need to remove 2 of the removable links on one side.
On the other side....one of the removable links is scratched from the stupid clasp opening and closing. Can I have them just switch out one of the links they are removing and put it in place of that scratched one? Or are the links different sizes? In other words, are all removable links sized the same and interchangeable? |

The removable links are all the same for any given bracelet.
However, the clasp will still open and close the same way

I actually bought it "unworn" but there is definitely a mark where the clasp is (and not from me). I think for those people who open their clasps and put it all the way back, it only takes once to leave a mark. I am only anal about it because I do not open the clasp that way.....so I know I won't ever put a mark there (thus, might as well switch out that link with a mint one).

Yes, all the removable links are the same size. But, I think the point Larry was making is that the clasp is still going to keep making that same mark on the link as long as you keep opening or closing it, no matter if you replace it or not.
There is a member, Mystro, that uses felt pads to prevent this from happening. Maybe he'll post here or you can contact him if you want to learn more. |

Hard to say! I just had my 116710LN polished by the dealer a couple months ago (no worries, first time it's ever been polished) and thus far out of 4-5 times wearing it, no line yet. I actually experimented with my 126711 and you really need to open that clasp and push it ALL the way back for it to touch. Again, I don't naturally push it that far.....definitely not all the way back to where it meets bracelet.

On the 126711 bracelet, yes, but not "any given" bracelet. The 114060, 116610, 126600 and 126660 bracelets all include half-links. The Sea-Dweller bracelets include dive extensions. Removing and/or moving any of these can dramatically alter fit and clasp alignment on the wrist.
