Vacheron Constantin

Hello All,

I just bought this mint condition Vacheron Constantin. The model is 7925 with original papers and box from 1972.

My question is regarding a symbol on the dial. It looks like two keys. Does anyone know what it signifies? Two pictures attached.

Thank you in advance for any help.

Regards,

Paul

Is there a new way of attaching images? It's asking for a URL?

My guess is that the key symbol is aftermarket. A company logo, a club or an order. I haven't seen it before on a V&C

I thought it might be some kind of order but I can get no leads on it.

All help welcome.

I tried a Google image search without much luck.

The two "keys" are not exactly the same. Poor craftsmanship or done on purpose?

Did you pop the back to make sure the watch is legit?

Finally, if you take better photographs of the symbol a Google image search may come to some help.

OP, there is a forum that may be better suited for enquiries like this, the hour lounge...it's set up and maintained by a number of VC enthusiasts, I'm sure you could get very well-informed answers there.

Many thanks!

Aren't 2 keys a papal ensign

They are crossed on the Vatican flag. I do not know whether there are other patterns.

Looking into religious insignia I found this:
Lion_Head_Holding_Keys.JPG
http://www.mindserpent.com/American_...rc_images.html
http://sdrministries.org/bibletruth/graven.html

Not sure whether this is what it is represented on the dial but it definitively looks similar.
