Hard to beat the DJ I couldn't resist...

I just picked this up. The case has never been polished imo. The bezel maybe with a cloth lightly at some point but only the surface. The milled edge is totally stock. No evidence the bezel has ever been removed. Original rounded edge plexi. Lugs are so fat for a DJ. Absolutely no flaring of the springbar holes. Movement is MINT. Almost no blems on any of the screws. Plates are perfect. Numbers clear as a bell. Satin between the lugs...like new. Some marks on the backs of the lugs from I would guess a USA jubilee. Back still has the satin in the middle with no evidence of ever being redone. !!-67. 1600 Just a plain old survivor! I love 1600...it's so stealth it looks like a Seiko :-)

The watch still had the original dirt between the lugs and around the bezel...nobody did anything to it.

I bet they scrapped the bracelet because it was stretched. Too bad I would have liked to have had it.

You can start to pick these out in the crowd...if you look at things for a long time. I studied this one and decided I had to have it.

In the old days because the case is so untouched it would have made a great RSC candidate or have MY pro polish it. I'm just gonna leave it.

Unpolished and beat to death...those watches are for somebody else. Unpolished and still looking this good, it's perfect!

Tommy,

Not bad for $1800.00.

I've also followed this watch for couple of days, and wanted to add to my DJ collection. The kids came home, and forgot all about it.

Congrats

Used to hang around watch shops BiTD... from vague memory, most Seikos in the cabinet were SS, nothing too bling fancy. But next door in the Citizen cabinet, majority with gold tone or twotone.

Odd, must be what the market demanded. Never thought much about it until now.

Yeah it would be easy to kind of not get real serious about...it's not 6541 or anything...but they are kind of unique. Smooth bezel steel and gold...probably the least common next to a 1600 18k solid.

It just spoke to me. I doubt I'll lose anything if I decide to sell :-)
