All things equal, is a grand sonnerie less expensive than a minute repeater?

I was hoping it would only be a petite/grande sonnerie and not a minute repeater to make the watch more accessible but it is not. It is a minute repeater too and the price is reported to be CHF1,115,000. |

Was excited about this, but way out of my league. Looks spectacular though.

It's a stunner, sounds wonderful and is an amazing feat of watch making. Quite large at 44.8mm though.

Luckily with my extra hour advantage I was able to get 2 orders in!
Jokes aside, it’s a beautiful accomplishment, albeit a bit abstract due to size and price. |

12mm is razor thin given what’s going on inside, but the diameter is quite large. I’d like to see it on someone’s wrist prior to making a final judgement, sometimes large watches still fit reasonably well based on the case shape. This is Patek at its absolute best, but my goodness that price.

Is this the only announcement? No other new models?

I do not like that this watch has lume. It doesn't make sense and doesn't look good imo. I love everything else about it though.
The grandmaster chime seems like a bargain at 2.5M next to this 1.1M watch. |

It’s a stunner, but not in my current league.

When I saw that it said "email" at the 6:00 position, I thought it might have been a smart watch too. ;). Actually it took me a second to realize that it was the translation on enamel.

Was secretly hoping there would be more revamped calatravas.
Good to see Patek continuing to produce/add new watches like these (be it majority of us wont buy). |

How come zero water resistance? Otherwise it is technical marvel, not sure how 44.8mm would appeal to its target group customers...

Minute repeaters are generally hard to be made water resistant. Think of the sliding triggers for the chime. It's not easy to keep water out of that lol

It’s beautiful and while I’m a fan of larger watches, 44.8 is a bit big for even me.

Wow that's an incredibly clumsy site. Somehow most watch manufacturers seem to be stuck in 2007.
