Ok, here is a serious thread

Now... for a little background... I sold my EXPII to my cousin, someone just out of the military with not a lot of money, but had saved up for a Rolex; I sold it to him at a pretty heavy discount and now he wears it proudly

I placed the order for my SS DJ41, but unless it shows up tomorrow (let's hope!) I won't have it at the GTG this weekend. I even posted a thread of wearing the Rolex receipt on my wrist and said I was wearing that (I'm a funny guy). But here is a HUGE shout out to TRF:

I have received FIVE (5) offers, from TRFers, OFFERING TO LEND ME THEIR ROLEX UNTIL MINE COMES IN. I am wearing Danny's (Danny83) Bronze Tudor this weekend, but I had offers from people I HAD NEVER MET, asking for my address to ship me one of their watches. Now, this is NOT just someone going to the GTG, a couple were from people on the other side of the country I had never met, and said I could keep their watch until Mine arrived... which could be months.

I took a moment today to think about this.... Wow.... These guys were willing to ship someone they had no idea who I am, ready to send me their watch worth THOUSANDS of dollars....

Just... Wow.... To Steve, you have created a wonderful community. Where else but TRF would something like this happen?

To Abdullah in New Mexico, and Trace, and Danny, and a couple others (that preferred to remain anonymous) Thank you for the incredible offer and may your GOD go with you.

Wow, I lent my mate my DJ after a few beers one night, because he was seriously considering buying one.

It felt like I had cut my arm off when I got home. Was so worried he would lose it, couldn't wait to get it back few days later.

Kudos

Yet another reason why I am so happy to be a part of this forum...Really great people here.
There is not one single day that I visit (and I visit multiple times per day) that I don't either learn something, laugh, marvel, or admire gestures of true kindness and support.

Having met more than a handful of members personally myself, I couldn't agree more Paul. We have a core group of top notch individuals here, whom are above and beyond.

Have a great time in Sin City, maybe next year I will attend and meet you all...

Thanks for posting this thread Paul. It made my day.
This forum is simply the best. What more can be said.
We laugh together. We celebrate incomings and life accomplishments together. And we share those sad occasions that affect us all sooner or later when family members of all varieties are sick or pass on. I feel privileged to be a member.

Pretty impressive stuff, but not a surprise really to those who have been around here a while.
The people who think a Rolex Forum is nothing but an ego-massage for rich status-seekers would be pretty blown away.

I am stunned. I don't have a response to that at all. Someday, perhaps someday I can experience the TRF GTG.
