Passed on SD43 and not regretting it!
My AD camled this morning and said he has a SD43 if I’m interested! It took me a second to consider it then told him to give me till Monday to think about it. Honestly I think I will turn it down as I have a subC which I love and I think someone else who has been really wanting this watch will enjoy it more than me
Am I crazy in my thinking?

If you like bigger watches, I think you’d really like it.
If the sub fits you well, then leave it. For me, it’s the perfect size and not as tall as the deep sea.

I have several ceramic subs and the DSSD Blue and just got the SD43. I felt like you did but once I said yes, I found that it is an awesome reference. I have felt the sub is a little thin and the DSSD is really thick. The SD43 is in between and I was shocked how wide the new bracelet is compared to the other divers! I love the SD43!

I love the watch! Wish an AD would offer it to me! I’m on a bunch of lists, but still nothing.

I too was offered one and passed. Too large for my skinny wrist. Love the 116600!

Indeed if you're happy with the size, look and feel of your SubC then why get into essentially just a bigger Sub. I love the SD43, but it's not for everyone. Best to put your money into something different. My 2 cents. Cheers!

Sometimes I think my Subc is quite big, so I can understand the SD43 being too big for some.

Not regretting it because you haven't definitely said no yet... If you're sure, decline now so you can make someone else's weekend

I was offered one but chose a Black dial Deepsea instead.
No regrets what so ever. |

If you think the 116610 is perfect as is, you don’t need the SD43.
If you think the 116610 is perfect except too small for you, you need the SD43. |

As beautiful as the new SD43 is, I agree that it's not for everyone.

I don't buy watches I won't wear...I'm kind of interested in that piece but actually talked to a AD today and asked to see the next one they get first even it it's sold.

I'd at least try it on. My guess is that you'll love it. I own one and pictures don't do it justice. This watch really checks a lot of boxes. Once I got mine, I sold my ND sub, as I knew it wouldn't get any more wrist time.

I too thought that since I had a Sub C, no need to drop the extra cash and ‘upgrade’ to the SD43. That was until I tried on the SD43 and was blown away by the increased wrist presence and comfy fit. Sub C was sold and was lucky enough to acquire a SD43 within days of my 50th birthday. My days of bouncing from watch to watch are behind me, as I feel as though Rolex hit the sweet spot with this watch.

I saw one at my AD last week and it is obnoxiously a large watch. I held it in my hand and said, can I just try on that 18k GMT?

Sure you could pick it up and punt it on for a profit if you didn't like it, but I would pass and let another who really wants it to get it at MSRP. It's a beautiful watch but would wear too big for me too.
Enjoy that new LV |
