Not crazy about the dials, I don't like any of the newer dials AP is putting on the RO, the new 42mm ROO is the same. Only worse because of the new condom shaped hands.

dont get me wrong, the sizing is great and i am all for smaller watch diameters (have all three colors of the steel 15450) but when the "flaw" is that obvious and them not bothering to do anything about it before releasing it is just... "not right". |

This model has got me seriously considering my first AP purchase.
Having no experience with the brand, is this the type of model that's going to have a huge wait list similar to a daytona? I'm actually thinking of swapping out of a ceramic daytona for this, does anyone have a sense as to how this would compare size-wise? I've got a relatively small wrist and the one time I tried a 41mm RO on it was just to big on me - hence the attraction of this case size. The daytona and 40mm SS sport rolex sit fine on my wrist but I couldn't pull off a sky dweller. |

38mm chrono should fit you fine if you’re already wearing the C Daytona. |

Looking at the AP wesbite and having first a 25860 and now a 26022 (both 39mm), I still think I could live with the date on the new 38mm model. I agree that like the Blancpain Leman chronograph (date at 6:00) and older Vacheron Overseas chronograph 49140 (big date at 12:00), why they chose not to be symmetrical is a mystery. Since they made the 6:00 subdial smaller, maybe it just looked better closer to it rather than up higher.

I don’t mind the date being at the 4:30 position. It seems it allows the subdials to be bigger if the date is at 4:30. |

Love the pics, wonder how 38mm would fit. I'm used to larger.

Well the difference between the Blancpain and AP (same bass caliber) is that they “hide” the date at 6:00 within the subdial. It doesn’t shrink It. The VC has a big date showing through two windows to each side of 12:00 so the seconds chronograph hand does not block it while at rest. So neither effec the subdial size Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

As much as like Panda dials, I think the grey tonal one is such a clean beast. It makes the watch far more brooding and brutal. The panda dial makes it almost lighthearted.

I love the grey...I'm thrilled it didn't get done in a 39.5mm as I'd be signing up for it haha.

I recently was offered to buy the grey one from the boutique of AP in Hong Kong when I was picking up a 15450 blue dial after 6 months of waiting :)
However, I am more interested in the panda one which will only come in Q4 2019 according to the staff. Personally I think the grey dial is too similar to the colour of the steel and does not pop as much as the other one!!! I have a small wrist (hence I got the 15450 37mm) so this size is perfect for me! |

I tired one on this weekend, way too small for me. I wear a 42mm Diver. I will aim for a 41 chrono RO.

Wrist size around 6.3 inch. Let me show you a few more photos to compare them with Rolex Sub and Speedmaster 2998. Let me know what you think!

Quite small indeed. Even the 15450 looks kind of big on your wrist. The 38mm RO should not be a problem though! Go for it

Well, as an update, I went to the NYC boutique and it turned out they had a couple of the pieces I could try even though the "trunk" show days were long over. I got to try the new 42mm offshore and WOW, they have really made that thing a fantastic size, thinned out the bezel and it's super wearable...my wrist is 7 inches btw for perspective, and to help with the next part...
But on to the 38...I asked if they had one of the promo pieces and it turned out they did have the white dial blue sub version in so I tried it...and WOW...it's got nearly PERFECT proportions and is a complete Daytona killer...especially at the market pricing. Id go as far to say if it were measured, it would be more like 38.5-39mm, as it fits almost identically to a Daytona, but presents extremely well. I ended up ordering one, which is something I thought I wouldn't do (or would even be able to ) but they had one more allocation left for the year. It really is the perfect "gentleman" sport Chrono. You can see it here, but the 38 is the exact same thickness as the 41mm, which really gives it some heft... |

Why couldn't they centre that date?
