Best 3rd party deployant clasps and straps?

So I'm interested in swapping the OEM buckle strap to deployant, but not really interested in paying $400 for the deployant itself, plus another $200 for an OEM strap. Does anyone have any 3rd party recommendations for both? Thanks.

I would not recommend to put a nice watch on a cheaper aftermarket depluyant buckle ,,, if you prefer deployant, i would go with the original ,,, also you will not change straps that often so you can justify the expense.

custom straps have classic sewn in buckles or other special buckles of the strapmaker ,,, that us a different ball game.

which PAM are you planning to wear on the deployant?

I just got a 351, thinking about getting an assolutamente or a lighter brown/tan strap since the OEM strap is already a nice dark brown. Have you ever heard of http://www.strap-source.com/? Are they a legitimate company? $300 for an OEM strap+deployant seems like a very good deal compared to msrp.

recent thread on non-OEM deployant: http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=458450

as for best strapmaker? that really depends on the type of strap you're after. there are many good ones, with some being better in certain areas than others. some great ones with which to start: micah (vintagerstraps), simona, dangerous9, greg stevens, peter gunny, toshi, ted su....

Does anyone have any experience buying from http://www.strap-source.com/?

$300 for an OEM deployant and strap seems like a very good price compared the msrp. I can't find any reviews with regards to their legitimacy.

May want to have a look here. http://www.scamadviser.com/check-web...rap-source.com . You're right their prices are very good, perhaps too good considering what OEM straps and deployant buckles cost.

Try Panatime.com. $35 for Deployants.

I posted some pics here before. So far so good.

I'm sure this will be highly frowned on by some because of the website, but I have been using a thumbnail and deployment from them for a couple months. No complaints at all.

I can tell you with 100% certainty that these straps and buckles are fake.

Just like watches, I recommend to always buy the seller :)

While there is no substitute for the real thing (fit and feel), I found a cheap one on Amazon that works surprisingly well... for $20.99!

Considering how cheap the deployant I recommended is, I would advise you not to buy cheap straps. For deployant, outside of OEM, I recommend www.combat-straps.com
