It looks like a lightly used watch. It looks unpolished to me...

Lots of rookies in this thread have no idea what they’re talking about. The OP’s watch is 100% unpolished.

What an inaccurate comparison. Your gmt is 100% polished. Simply take a look at the graining on the lug hoods. The angle of the graining is completely wrong and no factory finish ever looked like that.

Watch the the typical OEM angled/parallel with the case polish direction on the lugs.

That DJ is pretty old, 35 years easily. But it looks great, certainly no reason to pass on it because it has been badly polished. Assuming it went to service 3-ish times in its life, chances are it had some light touchup, but it looks great. If the seller isn't the original owner they may not know the whole history. If the seller has worn this daily for the last 35 years they must have always had long sleeves and kept it protected. It hasn't been recently polished and probably well cared for in its life. The flutes on the bezel look sharp. Probably hard to find a watch of similar age that looks that nice. Certainly the exception than the rule.

These pictures are a lot better than the original ones you posted. The lugs looked more rounded in the previous set which might be due to the lighting or reflections.

Looks like it's in great condition. Did you buy it?

If any watch that is more than 3 decades old and has been serviced, the likelihood is 87.4% that it has been polished. If, as a prospective buyer of a older watch, one can't tell if it has or has not been polished, why would anyone care. This is a very nice watch. It is not a significant archeological find. Nor is it a watch that is highly sought after by "collectors or hoarders".

Congrats on the purchase. watch looks good. case has sharp edges and right finishing.

Even it is polished once it doesn't matter as it was done well.

Please enlighten us all, in what way is this unpolished watch 'over-polished'?
