UPDATE
I know the restoration process was minor. Besides a new bezel, crown and seals, the watch "needed" nothing, though a complete service was performed including replacement of all the pins in the bracelet. Personally I would have left it as is and considered it a great conversation starter. I will try to meet up with the owner to get a pic or two.

gotta love british columbia! Some of the toughest men i have ever met live in bc.....this rolex story is a total match to the heart and soul of canada...(i can say this because i originally came from the usa). i agree, don't clean the watch, just what needs to be done to service it....
(btw i see the steel 'stain' all the time in the marine environment in bc....suspect its organic material and some oxidation)...my subtitle for this story is...... What's it take be canadian? tough, tenacious and classy.....of course its a rolex. |
